Chapter 8

A man with really dirty blonde hair stepped out of the forest. Mary and Eva hid behind me as the man stepped closer.

"Who are you and what do you want."

The man straightened his jacket and smirked.

"I don't think he was expecting it to mutate so much like it has. Maybe he was on to something after all with you." The man said.

That confused me.

"Who? Who are you talking about?"

"I wonder something..." The man mumbled.

"Hey! Answer me!"

"Ahh well! Another time, Y/n." The man said before disappearing.

My scythe disappeared and I stood there confused on what just happened. What did he mean by he might be on to something with me? And he was talking about mutation...

Dose that man know who did this to me? I was feeling a lot of mixed emotions just thinking about this.

"Okay girls, I think it's time we head back."

"Awwwww!" Eva and Mary whined in unison.

"I'm sorry girls but it's getting late and what just happened is concerning to say the least."

"I suppose that's fair since you seem unsure of something miss Y/n." Eva said.

It still bothers me a little bit that Eva seems to know what I'm feeling. I walked Mary back home and on the walk back the girls kept swinging on my arms.

"Goodbye Mary! I'll see you tomorrow!" Eva said waving goodbye.

Mary waved back and went inside once she heard her mother call for her. I gave Eva a piggyback ride all the way back to Donna's. Once I entered Donna's house a scream echoed throughout the house. Eva gripped me tightly and hid her face. Before I could take another step some random person came running towards the door screaming and what worried me was that he had a knife.

"Monsters! All of you are monsters!" The man screamed.

He ran directly at me and raised the knife high before stabbing me. I made sure he couldn't get to Eva and I heard Angie giggling.

"Oh? Y/n? Where have you been?" Angie said not caring about me getting stabbed apparently.

Donna appeared behind Angie and I heard her gasp once she saw what was going on. I swiftly grabbed the knife and kicked the guy off of me without Eva getting hurt. Before the man could get up I threw the knife directly into his head.

"Jeez, did you have to ruin the fun and kill him that fast?" Angie said disappointed.

My gaze shifted to Angie and anger was definitely written all over my face.

"You miss Angie can go fuck off for just standing there and you Donna can also go fuck off. If I wasn't in the way Eva would have gotten hurt. For someone who can make people see hallucinations, you do a very poor job of it. Eve a home now tell Miranda that she is ready to go back home now." I said before slamming the door shut before I left.

I was so annoyed it wasn't even funny.

I went deep into the forest that surrounded the village. I consistently swung my scythe at trees cutting them down. I normally don't get this angry easily but the fact that a child was in danger pissed me off.

Tree after tree this what going on for at least two hours. I fell to my knees breathing heavily.

"Must get up... must continue."

I hate showing that I'm weak. One mission I was on I failed to save a little girl. I wasn't strong enough to save her and ever since then I refuse to show any weakness and I push myself. I do this a lot especially when I get upset.

Sat down on the forest floor and rested up against one of the trees that was unfortunate to get sliced down.

Rain started to pour down and I was getting drenched. I sighed and closed my eyes and listened to the rain hit the leafs.

"How long do you plan on staying out here in the cold?"

I opened my eyes and looked in the direction of the voice. Miranda stood a few feet from me.

"Why are you here?"

"Eva told me everything that had happened. Donna didn't mean to let you get stabbed. Apparently that man was a bit resistant to her flowers pollin. Donna did scold Angie and Donna is worried sick about you." Miranda said.

"Yeah I figured. I may have been a bit to snippy."

I got up and stretched.

"Come, let's go back."

I walked past Miranda and on the walk Miranda had something to say.

"Eva also told me that a man was mumbling on about you." Miranda said.

"Don't ask me and I don't want to talk about it."

And that was finally.

Miranda didn't push it any further.

It was still bothering me on what that guy said. I might be able to figure out what happened to me.
