Chapter 5

Three days have passed since I came here at the institute. It's been nice, but most of the time it's awkward.

That's why I spend most of my time in my room, which was massive. There was too much space for one person,  it felt kind of empty.

It had a marble floor, and the walls were painted beige, the bed was in the corner of the room with clean white sheets. Across from the bed was a large wooden wardrobe, on the opposite wall a desk was placed and right next to it a small library.

What I loved most about the room was the small balcony. The view was especially beautiful when the sun came up. Below the balcony a tree was emerging, so it made me feel even more at home.

The professor was really nice and generous to me, even though I was not exactly the most obedient kid here.

He made sure I had enough clothes and books for the school he enrolled me in. Not to mention he gave me a laptop and a phone so I could communicate and entertain myself.

I told him I was fine with what I had, but he wouldn't take no for an answer.

The professor was really kind, in fact everyone here was really nice.

Well, maybe with the exception of Logan or should I say Wolverine.

His code name is Wolverine and due to his mutation, he can release metallic claws, three in each arm, which he doesn't hesitate to use. But that's not my problem, I actually think it's cool, I wish I had a pair.

The thing is, whenever I walk into a room, Logan will either stare at the scar on my eye or avoid making eye contact with me, and that made me feel uncomfortable.

That's why I decided to lock myself in my room and avoid situations like this.The less time we see each other, the less awkward.

The only person that I felt comfortable with was Scott.

Scott seems to like me, not in a romantic way, just to talk and hang out. It wasn't long until I realized his love for cars, especially for his own, a red convertible with white details. He would wash it and take care of it every day.

I also solved the red glasses mystery. Scott's mutation is optic blast, which he can't control. That's why he wears the glasses, they help him keep his powers under control. Jean is often the one helping him with that.

Of course, in a house full of teenagers, there is romance.

Jean and Scott seem to like each other, they are all over each other most of the time, but like every damn novel, Jean has friend zoned Scott and instead flirts with Duncan Matthews, a playboy of sorts.

Aside from her terrible taste in men and obliviousness, Jean is really helpful.

She gave me a tour of the institute and the basement levels.The basement levels are full of computers and machines, there is also a deadly war room for exercising called the Danger Room and the Cerebro, it can detect mutants all over the world, that's how they found me.

Ororo or Storm takes care of everyone and everything here, she also cooks all the meals. She likes to spend most of her time in the garden or in the greenhouse in the attic. She and Logan seem to be very close. Her mutation is weather control. Man, that's some power and I bet too hard to control.

Last but not least, Kurt Wagner.

When I arrived at the institute a surprise was waiting for me. He came here a day before me, he's a joker and generally a very happy person.

His power is teleportation and he has some kind of a mutation in his appearance, he is covered in blue fur, has two fingers on each of his legs and three fingers on each of his arms. His golden eyes are demon like, and his hair is dark blue, he has elven ears and lastly demon tail.
