It was dark, not even a single source of light.
I couldn't see anything, but I could hear a muffled laughter coming from inside the darkness, getting closer and closer.
A laugh that I will never forget.
"Hello Kathryn," he said, sending a chill down my spine.
"Go away," I shouted, my voice already cracking.
"How dare you speak to me like that? Your mother will be furious when she finds out," he said, laughing hysterically.
I sobbed and cried in fear
"Oh, Kathryn is sad, come here little one, let me kiss it better," he said, stepping out of the darkness, allowing me to see his face.
He wore his casual white shirt and blue jeans, both were covered with bloodstains. His smile wide painted red. His eyes were black, like the darkness around us both.
"Come on Kathryn, I promise I'll make it all better, just come here," he said again and I backed away, only to find myself against a wall.
I tried to phase, but I couldn't.
I started crying even harder when I realized there was no way out.
"I said come here!" He shouted, forcing me to my knees.
He grabbed my chin harshly making me look at him.
"You can't escape me Kathryn, you'll never get away from me, I'll always be here and there's nothing you can do to stop me," he said, letting go of my chin.
"No, you can not, you're dead!" I tried to yell, but only a whisper came out.
He laughed.
"I can," he said, and brought his hand down to my face.
I closed my eyes in fear, waiting for the burning sensation of the slap, but it never came.
I opened my eyes and saw the beige ceiling of my room. I sat up and looked around.
I was dreaming again.
I gasped for air while trying to suppress my sobs so no one could hear t them.
I buried my face into the pillow and let it all out.
I haven't had a nightmare since I came to the institute, so it was just a matter of time for them to come back.
-Time Skip-
I walked inside the kitchen, which was full of people.
Kurt was talking with Scott, Jean was helping Ororo around the kitchen, Logan was reading his newspaper, while the professor was nowhere to be found.
So I just sat down next to Scott and took an apple from the fruit bowl.
"Good morning, Katzchen! You are getting your beauty sleep, I see," he said, referring at me waking up late.
"Morning to you too, fuzzy elf," I said, biting into my apple.
"Good morning, ready for your first day of school?" asked Scott.
"Yeah, I guess so, what could go so wrong on our first day of school," I said and continued eating my apple.
Jean walked over to the table and sat down next to Kurt.
"What about you, Kurt? Are you ready?" she asked and began eating her eggs.
