I never believed
whenever they'd say
that we could miss someone forever.I had always doubted
that your heart could still hold the love
long after the person left your life. But today, I heard your name again,
and suddenly, I was taken back to the time
when you were still here.I remembered your voice
and the way you held my little hand
when we crossed the street.I remembered your stories
and the jokes that you repeatedly shared.
I remembered those moments
when you called my name. And I remembered
that you would never call my name ever again.I had always doubted
that your heart could still hold the love
long after the person left your life.Perhaps, it could.
Or maybe, all that'd be left
would be the empty feeling
of endlessly watching
the funeral of your heartthat died the day they left.
