'Tohru'She whipped to look behind her at the sound of her name. Standing there right there in front of her was a boy about the same age as her with grey hair and grey eyes.
He looked very concerned and that concern seemed to be directed at Tohru. But he also had a clear look of shock on his face that Tohru was confused at. His eyes looked huge, larger than Tohru has ever seen on a human being.
She had no idea why. She'd never seen this boy before and yet something about him felt familiar. Like the feeling of home.
'Tohru'
He called again this time sprinting at Tohru at full speed.
Tohru started to panic and ran the opposite way. A stranger coming at her like that would make anyone panic.
She must have ran a few blocks, each one looking less familiar then the other which means she would have a hard time finding her way back home after this. She looked behind her to see if the boy was still following her and sure enough he was still right there slowly catching up. Tohru tried to run faster but not too fast as she's very clumsy and her falling would make this situation even worse.
Unfortunately though the boy was faster. Perhaps because he wasn't suffering from an injury or maybe it was just fate. She didn't want to think about the latter.
He grabbed her arm and they both froze, panting.
Tohru didn't even know what she was doing here. Her body just decided to take her to this quiet suburban neighborhood as if it remembered something she'd forgotten.
Which was very possible.
She doesn't remember anything after the recovery from her head trauma.
Yes that's right, Tohru has severe amnesia.
All of her friends, her family, everything she knew before was gone.
That thought almost pulled her into a spiral of anxiety and depression, one that she was very familiar with, until she felt the hand around her arm squeeze slightly.
'Tohru what are you doing here?'
What kind of question was that?
Not even Tohru knew what she was doing or why she was gazing at a random second story apartment.
She knew she had a tendency to wander off, both the people she was staying with and the doctors have said this is normal for people with amnesia. She hated how much of a buren she'd become to people she assumed never knew her before everything happened.
'Tohru we thought you were dead'
She snapped out of her thoughts to see the boy in front of her still holding her arm and staring at her like he knew something she didn't. Which he obviously did.
'I'm sorry, who are you and how do you know me?'
She didn't mean for it to sound as rude as it did and she regretted it as soon as she looked at him.
His face dropped and let go of Tohru's arm holding that same hand to his face. Looking at him so deflated and broken almost made her want to cry. She all of the sudden felt glad she hasn't met anyone from her past until now. Yeah of course she was struggling but how much would it hurt for the people around her?
