Tohru slowly opens her eyes. Her vision is incredibly blurry and it's hard for her to make out anything that's happening. Her body feels really hot and it's getting harder and harder for her to breathe. Every inch she moves feels like needles are stabbing through her body. Her head was pounding and it was a surprise she hasn't passed out from pain yet.

As her vision slowly gets better, despite it still being blurry, she starts to get up. Tohru's body was screaming at her not to move a muscle but her survival instincts told her to keep moving.

She noticed she was in some kind of house, yet she wasn't sure where. As her eyes slowly adjusted, Tohru noticed that there was smoke everywhere; that wasn't helping her to figure out where she was and how to get out. The smoke was blocking out any view of outside she would've had otherwise.

Tohru used the wall as a balance and to keep herself upright as she tried to decide what to do next. Her brain wasn't working properly so her body decided for her. Tohru walked in the opposite direction of the heat she was feeling. Something in her said that there was danger that way.

Somehow she stumbled down the stairs and walked down the hallway to what she believed to be a backdoor. Tohru had no idea where she was or what she was doing there. Since there was no thought in her brain at this time, it never occurred to her that she was here with friends or family. She didn't consider the possibility of people looking or being concerned for her.

So she opened the door and walked out, her only concern being to get as far away from the house as possible. There wasn't anyone out there when she walked out. Everyone was on the other side of the house, waiting for the firefighters to arrive.

However, Tohru had no idea of this as she kept walking away from the scene.

Tohru's body refused to stop moving, even with the immense pain she was feeling. The entire life she had was being left behind. All her friends, all her family, and even Kyo, were all lost to her. The Tohru that she once was died in the fire, along with the people she once loved and cherished. She died trying to save the love of her life.

All that was left was the empty shell of a person the new Tohru was. She didn't have any family. She didn't have anyone to love and cherish for the rest of her life. An immeasurable pain was festering in her heart, and she had no idea why.

Tohru didn't know how far or long she had walked. Leaving the heat of the fire made Tohru feel cold, in more ways than one. She felt shivers go up her arm and goosebumps ran all over her body. Her movements slowed as she found it harder and harder to keep going.

There was light snow on the ground. The only sound Tohru could hear was it crunching under her feet; her bare feet. Just as Tohru was ready to collapse she heard a voice calling for her.

"Hey! What are you doing out here?"

After the embarrassment that was Yuki finding out that Tohru and Kyo had a flour fight like little toddlers he helped them make breakfast for everyone, even though Tohru pleaded that she didn't need any help. After that they all enjoyed a nice breakfast and played board games for most of the day.

In the late afternoon Yuki announced to everyone that he needed to pick up a few friends that will be joining them for the rest of the trip. Momiji and Haru volunteered to go with him and so did Hiro and Kisa which meant that Tohru and Kyo were stuck by themselves to defend the house. That was until Tohru had an idea.

"What if we go down to the beach?!" She said brightly as Kyo grabbed the milk carton out of the fridge and drank straight from it.

"Huh?" Kyo deadpans.
