Kyo tiredly opened his eyes to see the blurry ceiling of his hospital room. As his vision slowly went back into focus, the bright white light above him hurt his eyes worse and worse. He quickly shut his eyes again when the pain became too unbearable.
He could still feel an oxygen mask pressed against his face. All that could be heard was his heavy, choppy breaths that echoed through his mask and into the hospital room.
Kyo noted how scary and horrific his breathing sounded. If it was anyone else Kyo would've been convinced they were dying.
"How much longer do you think he'll be unconscious?" A high pitched voice asked. It sounded like a familiar girl's voice but Kyo just couldn't make it out.
"We aren't sure yet. It could be a couple days or it could be a couple years, it's all up to him now." A deeper woman's voice replied.
Kyo then heard a gasp come from the first person's mouth before footsteps led out of the room. The silence after was almost too much for his weak body to bear. Kyo had no desire to raise himself from the comfort of the bed and he wished that he could rest eternally right where he was.
He was too tired to care.
"Master, Kyo has to wake up right?" The girl asked. Kyo's ears perked up at the sound of the word 'Master'.
"Kyo is tougher than anyone else I know. I'm sure he will be able to pull through." A man's voice responded.
Kyo knew that voice. It was the voice of his Master and father figure. The man who changed Kyo's life for the better and gave him a reason to live.
Kyo couldn't leave him behind. He started opening his eyes once again, but this time he was met with the worried eyes of Kagura and Kazuma. He turned over to his father and tried giving him a weak smile, making sure that he knew Kyo was okay.
Kazuma returned that sweet smile and Kagura could see the love in his eyes. The love that a father helps for his son.
"Welcome back, Kyo."

"What is Tohru to you?"
Yuki wasn't expecting this kind of question at all. He didn't realize that the cat boy would actually confront him on what went on earlier in the day. The old Kyo would've just sulked in his room.
However, Yuki knew that at some point he would have to tell Kyo the truth about the past if he wanted things to progress.
"Well, she's my mom." Yuki stated with serious eyes.
"HEH?!?!"
At the sight of Kyo's bewildered expression, Yuki started chuckling. He put his hand over his mouth so he didn't wake up the others.
"Quit messing with me! This is serious!" Kyo exclaimed.
Yuki's laughter slowed down and he calmed. "Sorry, but I knew it would get you."
Kyo was getting impatient.
"Answer the question. I need to know." Kyo's tone turned serious and he glared at Yuki..
"Are you sure you're going to be able to handle the truth? Aren't those headaches still bothering you?" Yuki tested with a smirk on his face.
"I DON'T CARE ABOUT THAT RIGHT NOW! Are you going to tell me or not!?" Kyo yelled.
"It's not like I don't want to, Kyo." Yuki matched Kyo's serious expression. "You have no idea how much I want both of your memories back... it's just not that simple."
