"Hey Kyo! How much longer until we get there?" Tohru asked, sitting in the passenger seat of their car, a smile always on her face. She sat there staring at the love of her life as he had his hands on the wheel and eyes never leaving the road.
Kyo has never liked driving. It made him anxious. It reminded him of the car that swerved all around the road before hitting the redhead in front of him.
The redhead he failed to save.
Kyo shakes his head as he desperately tries not to fall back into old patterns. He was healing slowly and he's learned not to blame himself for everything but there were still things that brought him right back to that day.
Kyo's hands tighten on the wheel.
"We should be there in about 20 minutes, IF THIS PIECE OF SHIT WOULD GO THE SPEED LIMIT!" He yelled and honked his horn. Kyo was definitely one to road rage although he tried to limit his yelling when Tohru was around.
However she never seems to mind. After living under the same roof as Kyo and Yuki for most of high school she's gotten used to how loud he could be.
Tohru started laughing uncontrollably at his anger, making him blush in response.
Sure they've been dating for about two years now but that didn't stop Tohru from being the cutest person he'd ever met.
It wasn't fair.
"Hey! What are you laughing for?" Kyo responded sarcastically, desperately trying to cover for the red on his cheeks as fast as possible. Thankfully for him it was too dark outside for Tohru to notice anyway.
"Nothing, I'm just really glad to be with you, Kyo." She smiled at the boy with closed eyes. He still kept his eyes on the road, only seeing her expression from the corner of his eye.
And boy was he blushing now.
He once again felt his heart rising to his cheeks and decided instead of replying he would focus on the task in front of him letting a comfortable silence fall in the car.

Yuki never expected to see the one person in the world he wanted to see most.
The one he'd never thought he'd see again.
Currently he has summer break from college which Yuki is very thankful for. Finals just finished up and Yuki has had a rough time with all the work that was piled on him as well as dealing with the grief of losing Tohru. His professors had no idea what he was going through and he never bothered to tell them. As long as he did his work on time and came to class he figured it didn't matter for them to know. He didn't want to go through the the awkward conversations and looks of pity.
He came back home to see how Kyo was doing and to meet up with Momiji and Haru. Even though Yuki didn't live that far away Haru decided that while he was here Yuki would be staying with him.
He's not sure what compelled him to walk down the neighborhood of Tohru's old house, the one when her mother was still alive.
Maybe it was to relive the time he rescued her, maybe it was to remind him that the person that he loved as a friend did in fact exist and it wasn't just his imagination, or maybe it was just coincidence.
Either way he never thought the girl that stood in front of him was in fact Tohru Honda, the girl that gave him the home he longed for.
Yuki was just playing back the events in his head. He was in disbelief. Not only was she alive and right there in front of him but it seemed she had no memories of what happened before the incident. He wasn't even sure if she remembered the incident at all. Looking back she seemed like she was longing for someone, anyone to tell her who she was.
