While Eclipse and I watched the video, Protector was sitting there, her faceplate almost red. When the videos ended, Eclipse turned to Protector and said, "There was no hint of locations in these recordings."
"Well, there was one video that told me the locations. I deleted it afterward," Protector replied.
"You're lying again! If you keep it up, I'm gonna leave."
"Protector," I said, stepping forward, "why are you lying? There's not much to hide."
She sighed, "Actually, when the last video ended, I remembered something that seemed off," Protector said.
"Okay," Eclipse said, walking away. I walked up to Protector and rested my hand on hers. After a minute of standing, I settled down next to her. She embraced it and held me in her hands.
Couple of hours later, we reached the new location. I instantly recognized it as Machu Picchu. "Um, we will have to find a way to get there without being noticed," I said.
"Why? it looks deserted," Razorclaw asked.
"Well, since it's ancient, it's a wonder to us modern humans," I replied.
"Ah," Razorclaw said, and he nudged his sister as if he wanted her to say something.
"We should find a good place to land, and I'll help with something important," Eclipse said weirdly.
We landed in a small clearing at the base of the slope that Machu Picchu rests on. I hopped on Protector's shoulder, and we left the ship. Eclipse took the lead and halted when someone looked over the edge. When we reached the tree line, she halted again, and so did we.
"Now, it's time for her to work her magic," Razorclaw whispered. Eclipse put her hands on the ground and stretched her wings out so they were touching the lowest leaves of the surrounding trees. I heard her mumbling something, but I couldn't understand it since it wasn't English or modern Cybertronian. I strained to hear her but instead, I heard the sounds of people leaving Machu Picchu.
"Okay, they're gone," Eclipse said after a couple of minutes. I looked at Protector, and she shrugged and made me wobble since I was on her shoulder.
We walked up the hill to find the monument deserted. When Protector got up the hill, she immediately went to the middle of the area we were in. "The ship is supposed to be here. Where is it!" She exclaimed. I made her put me down, and then the four of us went looking.
After about an hour of looking for the Predacons, I realized something. "The Predacons could be anywhere in the world by now," I said loud enough for the others to hear.
"Oh, great! How will we find them!" Razorclaw exclaimed sarcastically.
"I can still feel them; they're somewhere near here," Eclipse said, casting a look at Protector and I.
"Ya know, you keep snapping at me for lying, but you haven't explained how you know these things," Protector retorted.
"Maybe she isn't comfortable explaining these things to you!" Razorclaw said, defending Eclipse.
"No, no it's fine," Eclipse said. "I have been keeping things from you two. I have the power to read minds; that's how I could see through your lies so easily and how I could get the humans away." Her explanation left me shook, and millions of questions ran through my head.
"Is my mind as clear to read as Cybertronians?" I asked, deciding that I would pester her with questions later.
"Yes, but I can't really read your emotions and some of the meaning behind them as well as I could Cybertronians," She said. She then stood there for a moment before turning to Protector and said, "I think that there is something blocking your mind from reaching its full potential. Can I try to breach it?"
Protector gulped and replied, "Sure, I guess." Eclipse walked over to her and rested two fingers on her temples. Both their eyes went white, and Protector gasped. Eclipse's wings unfurled and surrounded both of them. Wind started howling, and it threatened to pick me up and bring me to the heavens.
I felt a hand surround me, and I looked up to see Razorclaw. After a minute, Eclipse backed up, and she started to return to normal and Protector was now surrounded by white light. The wind started to die down, and then the ball of light surrounding Protector started to fade.
When the light fully faded, I was staring at a new Protector with wings sprouting from her back. She was now much taller and broader, and she seemed to radiate an aura of authority. I heard the Predacons gasp and they started to bow. Razorclaw put me down as he was kneeling. "My Queen," they said together.
Protector turned toward us and said, "Rise my disciples. Could you inform me where we are and who this creature is?" She said, motioning to me and the landscape around us.
"We are on the planet Earth, and I'm Alex. Who are you? Well I'm guessing you're not Protector since you don't look like her at all, but at the same time I do want to say you are her since you are standing where she stood," I said.
"Ah, Earth, I've heard talk of it in my travels but I've never been able to come. Hello Alex my current name is Predaqueen but I was Protector when I was younger."
"Um, Predaqueen, we need to find the Predacons before we lose their signal," Eclipse said.
"Yes, we do. I know that they have not traveled far, I can hear them very clearly."
"I think that the Inca that lived here before they left worshiped the predacons like their other gods," the others gave me a quizzical look, "Well I think I remember my history teacher telling us about this, there may even be a statue of them somewhere in the area. Unless it got destroyed, which is highly possible since there is none here," I explained.
"That may be," Predaqueen said, "I wonder if I could create a hologram to see where the statue was and then if I can go deep enough I may be able to find where they went," she thought out loud.
"So you'd be like Mirage but you'd be creating the hologram out of the earth's memory. That's really cool," I said, not noticing the look on Predaqueens face.
She turned to Eclipse and said in Cybertronian, "How does she know so much about Cybertron? What did you tell her?"
I rolled my eyes and said back, "I know so much because I actually pay attention to the movies and TV shows, and I feel like I was somewhat born with this knowledge." She stared at me for a couple seconds and sighed deeply before conversing with Eclipse telepathically. I sighed myself and turned to Razorclaw and said, "Can you communicate telepathically with them too?"
"Not really, I kind of can with Eclipse but the only way for me to communicate with anyone else would be if she included me in the conversation," he replied.
So it is as I thought. I stared at the two telepaths and waited for them to be done. They nodded at each other and turned to Razorclaw and I.
"We will search the area for the predacons. Alex, you'll search for any clues on where they might be in the area. Razorclaw, you will search the eastern side. Eclipse, you will search the western side, and I will search the surrounding mountains." Predaqueen said and as soon as she finished the others left to search their areas.
I started walking around once Predaqueen left and I was left alone with my very overwhelming thoughts. It eventually got to the point where I was wandering around aimlessly and I was starting to imagine myself as a Cybertronian. My life was simple. I was a scout for the Autobots, I was also sent on missions frequently. I was alone for most of them and they were long. I didn't mind the solitude, it was actually welcoming.
I heard a crash that shook me out of my thoughts. The crash was followed by the sound of blasters firing up. I ran to where the sounds came from and saw Razorclaw in a hole and he was in his Predacon form, standing defensively with his wings spread. I almost immediately heard two sets of wing beats coming toward me, and then I saw them go into the hole and transform to face whomever was in the hole.
