Amity's Fall

"Amity?!" Luz called as the witch got up and ran out of her room. "Are you gonna talk to me?"

The witch stopped right in front of the door.

"Goodbye, Luz." Amity said, glancing back at Luz with a smile and tears running down her face.

"What do you mean 'goodbye? I just got here." Luz replied.

The witch didn't answer. She instead took her half ponytail out and ran out the door, into the woods.

Luz chased after her, of course, but Amity was too fast to be caught.

The chase continued until Amity finally stopped at a cliff, Luz standing a few feet behind her.

"Ams? What are you doing?" Luz asked, trying to sound as calm as possible.

"You left me Luz."

"I didn't try to!"

"But you still did!"

"You don't get it, Amity!"

"Maybe I don't get it. But you know what I do get?"

Luz just stared at the witch in front of her.

"I get the fact that you got me out of my shell. You were someone who I could trust, who I could show emotion to."

"You were someone I loved, Luz."

"And you left me." Amity ended.

"But what about your band? It seemed like you were genuinely happy when you were singing." Luz began to cry.

"You know why I was happy? I was happy because singing and writing songs was the only outlet I truly had when you left. Yeah, I had and still have my siblings and Willow, but you were truly something else, Luz." The witch's voice had begun to crack, tears filling her eyes as she slowly drifted closer to the edge.

"Ammy, what are you doing?" Luz asked, slowly getting closer to the witch.

No reply.

At this point, Luz was merely inches from her friend.

"I hope you finally get it Luz."

"Get...what...?"

"That I'm Mr Loverman!...And I missed my lover." Amity calmly said before pushing Luz away with a spell and calmly falling off the cliff.

"AMITY!"

"Hey Willow where's Mittens?" Emira asked, around 20 minutes after Amity had left.

"Oh she said she had to go and ran out the door around twenty minutes ago." The plant witch replied. "And do you know if she saw Luz?"

The color drained from Emira's face. "Amity's at the emergency healer's."

"Emira, what are you talking about?"

"I just got a message on my scroll. It says Amity is in the emergency healer's unconscious. Luz brought her there." The twin said, tears beginning to fill her eyes. "I'm going to see her. Get Edric and bring him." Emira demanded.

"Will do." Willow said before watching her friend sprint out the door.

"WHERE IS SHE? WHERE'S MY SISTER?" Emira yelled in a panic as soon as she ran in the waiting room.

"Miss Blight, I'm going to have to ask you to calm down. Your sister came in around five minutes ago and is in critical condition. She was carried in by the human over there." The healer pointed to Luz before Emira rushed over to the human.

"Luz what happened?" Emira asked, calm as to not scare the girl.

Luz explained what had happened that night. "And then I rushed down the cliff with a plant spell, picked her up and ran here.

Flashback

"AMITY!" Luz screamed as she watched her friend fall off the cliff.

She quickly drew a plant glyph and made her way down on some vines before picking up the unconscious witch and running to the healers.

She ran, and ran, and ran. "Come on Ams, don't leave me! Please! I couldn't bare to lose you again.." Luz pleaded in between sobs.

The poor human kept running, pushing through the burn she felt in her legs, her muscles nearly giving out until she finally saw the Emergency Healers.

"Don't worry Ammy! We're almost there." Luz said, mostly to comfort herself as she knew Amity had most likely broken some ribs and was unconscious.

A few seconds later she made it inside the Healers' and was yelling for assistance.

"Please! Someone help!"

Some healers came and quickly rushed Amity into a room, one staying back to ask Luz questions about what happened.

After the healer had left, Luz sat in the waiting room and cried.

"I'm sorry I left you Amity. I'm sorry I made you hurt so much." She continued repeating this to herself until Emira came rushing in.

"D-Do you know why Amity said, 'I'm Mr Loverman and I missed my lover' before she- you know, jumped?" Luz asked the Blight sister.

"Wait she said that?"

"Yeah, she said she'd hoped I'd finally get it."

"Luz, that song was about you! That was the first song she wrote, a little while after you left."

"Oh..do you have it? Like can I listen to it?"

"Sorry, Amity always refused to record or preform it." Emira replied sympathetically.

"That's alright. I should probably go anyways." Luz said, already getting up.

"Wait why?"

"I caused all of this. I doubt Amity would want to see me again." Luz mumbled, walking closer to the door. "Bye Emira. It was nice seeing you again. Tell Edric I say hi!" She walked outside the door, leaving for the Owl House.

This chapter was a bit short because I'm typing at 3:45 in the morning but I hope it was still decent! 😅 I swear it'll get better in future chapters but for now,
