Kya woke up the next morning to the sun shining in her eyes, having not thought to close the curtains in her room that night. She had so many other things running through her mind that this seemed completely irrelevant until now when her head was throbbing. She still felt like garbage over everything that had happened...well at least the events that led up to last night. She wasn't even upset anymore about Ayani and Lin's little prank, she sort of deserved it. Kya rolled over to get up but ended up knocking into another body beside her. She opened her eyes and squinted through her migraine to see Ayani snuggled up under the blankets with them pulled up to her chin and looking at Kya with one eye half-open.

"Well, good morning..." Kya said, her confusion masked by the face she was making from the pain.

Ayani sighed. "Don't even bother asking why I'm here. The couch just wasn't comfortable." She said before yawning and rolling onto her back, the blanket still tucked snug under her chin. "I'm sorry for last night".

"I am too". She said softly. "I know that doesn't make it better, but I just want you to know that I do mean it".

"I know...people make mistakes and it was childish for me to try and get revenge for what happened." Ayani said, turning her head and looking at her wife.

"Seriously, it's fine". Kya said. "No more apologies about it. I just want to move on from everything".

She nodded. "Alright, how about we get some breakfast. I can smell your mother's cooking from here".

Kya smiled. "That is definitely what you're smelling, she makes amazing food no matter the time of day".

"From what I've seen with the eating habits of your aunt and uncle, I'm not surprised one bit". She chuckled lightly.

The two women got up and got dressed before heading across the house to the dining area where half of everyone was already eating and of course goofing around with each other. That was the thing about Kya's family, they were always having a good time and even when they were arguing, it ended in laughs.

"I can't catch food in the air!" Toph laughed, throwing a scrap of scrambled ostrich horse egg at Sokka, hitting him in the face.

"That's the fun part!" He said as he wiped his face off. "Now try it again!"

"If you throw another piece of any food at me again I'll make sure you don't get anything to eat for the rest of the day!" She blocked her face.

Sokka paused. "Throw food at you? I would never". He went back to scarfing down everything on his plate before she decided to take it from him anyway.

"That's what I thought". She smirked.

Katara sighed, setting the rest of the food down. "Okay children, stop ruining my house please".

"Good morning". Kya yawned as she and Ayani came into the room and took their seats.

"Good morning, did you both have a good night's rest?" Katara smiled up at the two.

Ayani grabbed a plate. "It was very peaceful, I love the energy here. It helps to wake up to the smell of your food too, Katara".

"I appreciate that a lot more than what I get from *some* people".  She glared at Sokka and Toph.

"I hear your tone and I would just like to say..." Toph paused. "It's all Sokka's fault".

Sokka looked at her baffled. "Wow! Way to throw me under".

"You act like it's a secret". She flicked a piece of food across the table at him.

"Please don't start being gross again". Lin said as she sat down next to her mother.
