chapter 3

𝙽𝚘 𝚘𝚗𝚎𝚜 𝙿𝙾𝚅

There were stairs leading up to what seemed like nothing. At this point, people were dropping like flies whether it be from exhaustion or deciding it wasn't worth it.

After what felt like hours a light could be seen. It was as though they had reached the heavens after a treterous journey.

This motivated people to continue. Aki was in a group near hisoka and the one who saved them whereas gon and killua were at the front and the other two towards the back.

'I'm getting slightly fatigued' Aki thought to themselves. They stopped their nen and began to run up the stairs. 'If I'm right we should only have half an hour left. I'm rarely wrong, however'

Half an hour later they did reach the top. The amount of applicants has roughly halved by just the first phase.

𝙰𝚔𝚒 𝙿𝙾𝚅

'Such weaklings. Can't even run' Aki thought. 'Fuck. My cocky side is getting the better of me

The examiner started to talk whilst the door closed on someone so close yet so far.

'I'm bored, I need drama' Aki thought craving chaos.

Just as they wanted a weird person came out from the side of the building.

"This is swindlers swamp and it's full of weak creatures who team up to kill and feed on flesh." The examiner explained when the other person decided to interfere.

"Don't listen to him! He's an imposter! I'm the real examiner! He's trying to lead you into the wetlands and kill you. He's a man-faced ape!" This new 'examiner' tried to convince everyone. The obviously strong people there didn't buy it but most others tried to decide which was more Believable.

It got slightly heated so hisoka decided to intervene. He threw 3 cards at both the imposter and the examiner. The imposter was hit and therefore died whereas the examiner caught the attack.

"You see~ the examiners are hunters and anyone who bears the title we speak would be able to dodge that attack~," hisoka said.

"If you are to attack me again at any point I will have no need but to disqualify you" the examiner sternly stated at hisoka.

And so the journey continues. They followed him through the wetlands to get to the phase 2 site. The group was split in half again basically leaving roughly 100 applicants. The last to arrive was gon and his kurta friend.

'Strange'

At this point, the last examiner had already disappeared leaving everyone standing outside of really tall golden gates.

'Did they send me to heaven?' Aki thought to themselves.

A/n: sorry this part is kinda boring I just find this part of the exam boring to write about but in reality, the interesting part doesn't start until later anyway. Either way, I hope you enjoy the rewrite of this so far. Love you all
