Chapter 9

After "We don't talk about Bruno"
Y/n pov:

Mirabel connected the vision shards
There were 2 separate ones
One with her standing in front of casita and it looked cracked but when she moved it slightly the cracks would disappear
And then there was the other vision it was of Camilo standing in front of someone it looked like he was yelling I could see butterfly wings sticking out from behind him

Why am I there ?

I picked it up carefully and tilted it

No way

It changed
At a certain angle it would be me hovering in the air I also seemed to be yelling at someone
But peeking from behind my wings was

Camilo ?

" Camilo are you seeing—" I was interrupted by Mirabel's dad walking into the room
He looked at both visions as his mouth hung in disbelief

Mirabel tried covering them but he already saw them
She explained how we broke into Bruno's tower and the magic might be fading and it's all because of her

I watched as Señor Agustin stepped past Mirabel he took apart the visions and put them in his pocket

"We say nothing, Abuela wants tonight to be perfect you guys didn't break into Bruno's tower the magic is not dying Luisa's gift is not fading no one needs to know—" he stopped as the door creaked open revealing Dolores who had been listening that entire time

"I know" she whispered before walking off

"She's gonna tell everyone isn't she ?"

I turned to Camilo with a worried look he looked back at me nervously
Then he smiled hesitantly

"It'll be fine... I hope."

Well that's not very reassuring

We walked halfway down the stairs when I stopped

"Camilo !" I whispered
"Am I even supposed to be here ? It seems like a family thing."

"Uhmmm if you want you can wait here. I'm sure it won't take long." He responded before saying
"Actually I'll need you for emotional support come on."
He took my hand and dragged me down the stairs down to the dinner table
For some reason there seemed to be an extra seat
Camilo sat next to Dolores and I sat next to him

Abuela made her speech and dinner began I looked over to Mirabel who seemed to be having a staring contest with Dolores who looked like she was about to crack

I turned away for a second and Camilo bumped my arm I looked over and saw Dolores telling Señor Felix who then told Señora Pepa that's when she started forming a rain cloud she then told Señora Julieta
Then disaster broke loose
As Mirabel pushed Mariano to propose to Isabella
Pepa's cloud got bigger and it started thundering
I saw the cracks started forming Mirabel did her best to cover them
Mariano's mom had asked Luisa to bring over the piano
Luisa came in dragging the piano while sobbing
Mariano tried to continue with his proposal
Antonio's birds flew everywhere

The magic it's ... fading

Cracks filled the walls of the house they were all on the floors and walls
A flower came out of the cracks and hit Mariano's nose
