"CAROLINE, could that skirt be anymore short" dawson growled from beside her, passing the students through the halls. she let out a huff, rolling her eyes. "shut up, dawson. you aren't the boss of me. can i allowed to wear whatever i want, without being sexualized?"

he let out a heavy sigh, crossing his arms. "you look like a hooker" he said under his breath, causing her to whip her head around. "dawson, you always ask yourself why your relationships never work out. and this, this is the exact reason why" she pointed, glaring.

"what does that even mean"

"it means, you put out your opinion when it isn't needed. you always speak your mind about someone else's business. learn to keep things to yourself, little brother" she snapped, opening the doors of capeside high.

she was thankful that the day had finally come to an end, but dreaded the fact she had to drive herself to joeys family restaurant, as the group of friends were studying tonight.

caroline didn't want to go, but she promised. she was exhausted, mentally and emotionally. she still hadn't said a word about the breakup, and the group hadn't bothered her with it. joey and jen we're probably the only ones to realize griffin wasn't around as much, whilst the boys just chose to ignore it.

the group was in a studying frenzy when they were approached by pacey's father, bringing their heads up to see the uniform dressed man.

"what are you doing here, pacey?"

"we're uh, signing a peace treaty" he joked, laughing to himself. "studying, pop, studying" he stared at his father, the awkward tension rising in the air.

"joey, is your father around?" pacey's father asked, staring at the brunette. before she could answer, mike potter stepped in.

"hello, john. restaurants closed"

"hi, mike. can i speak to you for a moment in private?" he asked. joeys father nodded, leading the man into the back, leaving the teens alone.

"pacey, what's going on?" joey whispered, leaning towards pacey. "hey, don't look at me. my fathers crusades are his own deal"

joey quickly excused herself from the table, going to the back room where her father and the sheriff were located. soon, pacey's father left, not sparing another glance their way.

a sigh left caroline's lips, leaning back into the chair. dawson was next to join joey, most likely checking up in her. the group had all slowly travelled around the restaurant. jen and jack went to get some coffee, dawson and joey were still in the back, whilst caroline had excused herself to the bathroom, with pacey rushing to chase his father.

caroline examined herself in the mirror, frowning to herself. her eyes were puffy, lips swollen from the tears she had let escape the past nights alone in her room.
