IF THE WORLD was black and white, Caroline would be the colorful gold shining through. If the entire ocean was grey, Caroline would be the blue gleaming brightly in between. That's what people thought of Caroline Leery.

Caroline wasn't the type of girl to easily scare. She knew reputation was important, so she kept up with the title she owned. Caroline had the typical personality of a teenage girl. She liked some people, hated the others. Caroline was known to keep a grudge. Most likely wasn't the best personality trait she could have, but to her, she didn't care about what people thought of her. Well, at least, she showed that on the outside. On the inside, she feared hatred and dislike. Caroline wanted to be loved.

Dawson Leery was an opinionated boy of many things. He was liked by many, but was stuck in Caroline's shadow, making him resentful of her and her power she held in her hands.

Caroline loved her brother, but the way he felt about her kept her secluded from him. She felt as though she was a bother when around him. Maybe, that was a reason for her making the decision to practically run away to the bright shining star city of the United Kingdom.

London was a city of art, something Caroline was passionate in. At a young age, Caroline learned to take opportunities that were thrown her way, even if she was scared to take such a stretch. Caroline was newly 15 when she sailed away to the big city and didn't dare turn back. The only flaw in her plan, was that she failed to speak the truth to her two best friend's, Joey Potter and Pacey Witter, who were both furious on her leaving. Joey had learned to forgive the Leery girl, but Pacey failed to do so.

That was something that made Caroline and Pacey such great friends. They both would hate one person if the other did, so with Pacey's disapproval towards Caroline's choices, it led them to a blockage in their relationship. For years, Caroline and Pacey were stuck at the hip. The two had met on the first day of Middle school. Caroline was immediately the popular girl many talked about, while Pacey was the boy ignored. No one understood exactly what Caroline saw in Pacey, but she ignored the judgmental stares she'd earn from simply walking with the boy.

For once in Caroline's life, Pacey made her not care about her social image. She was grateful he was able to make her genuine and true. Pacey had an ever-longing crush on Caroline. But hell, who wouldn't. It was practically a trend in the town of Capeside for boys to fawn over Caroline Leery. Some would describe her as what every boy wants in a girl, while others would simply say she's fun to mess around with. Which was unfortunate, due to the lack of truth that swarmed the rumors floating around the halls of Capeside high. Caroline was an untouched woman, but for some odd reason, no one believed her when she explained that to people. The lies didn't help, though.
