killjoy was bored. she's been walking around the protocol looking for something to do, preferably a new invention idea or for one of her friends to come up to her. so far nothing has happened yet, nothing has sparked, and all her friends are probably practicing and she could probably find them there but she didn't feel like training currently. she was thinking of visiting viper but knew the chemist was probably busy. usually the german wouldn't care but she's been feeling a bit out of it lately and the past three days have been the worst. nothing exciting, her friends seemed to not be talking to her as much or inviting her to anything, and viper has been cooped up in her lab more than usual.

killjoy just sighed and continued to hum while walking around the place she's gotten so familiar with now. she took a turn and saw viper's lab, 'Sabine wouldn't mind if i stayed in her lab for a few minutes, right?" she made her way over still humming. when she got close she stopped in front of the door and typed the code that only she knew the meaning behind. when the door's hissed open she saw her just standing, staring off and hasn't noticed the door. killjoy took a step in with the door closing behind her, "Sabine?" killjoy's voice made her head snap over with a tense look which quickly softened after seeing who it was.

killjoy made her way over to viper and looked down at her, "you look stressed mein schatz, are you ok?" killjoy was always so concerned about viper even when she could be cold and distant. viper don't respond and looked back down at her desk. this just worries the engineer more and started thinking of reasons why she could be like this. 'did something happen? did an excitement go wrong? what if she got scolded by brimstone again?' killjoy was quiet until a certain thought crossed her mind, "viper, did i do something..? is that why you've been so distant.." saying this out loud almost made the taller girl tear up instantly thinking she did something to hurt the love of her life.

viper was once again, snapped back to reality hearing her code name being said by the engineer (which rarely happens) and the tone of her voice. viper softly held killjoy's face and finally spoke, "killjoy of course it's not because of you." she explained no further, just a soft kiss on killjoy's cheek and she let go. "then why. why have you been so distant? do you not love me anymore.." killjoy was about to start crying, "you've been distant, you're avoiding me, you haven't even called me any nickname or even my real name for so long, did i do something viper. just tell me. stop hiding from me." killjoy felt a tear come out and the rest came pouring with it.

viper hugged her, "mäuschen i'm so sorry if that's how i made you feel. i haven't slept in 5 days, i've been so overwhelmed with work, i've been stressed, and i was worried you were the one who didn't love me anymore. you stopped visiting me as much, you weren't as energetic around me anymore so i thought, it'd be best to slowly let you go." viper dug her face into killjoy's chest being unfamiliar with telling people how she truly felt. killjoy was hit with a shock realizing it was her fault too, she hasn't been seeing viper as much or showing as much affection towards her, she's been hanging around skye and yoru more.

"mein gott viper you're right. i-i'm in the wrong here.." hugged viper tightly, "i promise i'll be better!" killjoy stopped crying and just hugged her tightly while peppering her face with kisses, "maus, i also need to do better it's not just you." viper smiled at her finally glad to know what her love felt about hers. killjoy started moving down more with her kisses to her neck and viper started softly laughing being slightly ticklish in the neck area until then suddenly killjoy suddenly softly bit her, "Emil!" viper looked up at her and smacked her on the back of her head. "ow! fine fine i'm sorry love." killjoy was chuckling and rubbing the back of her head.
