If only - Killjoy x Viper (Short Angst)

Killjoy has been hovering over her desk for hours, crying tears while writing but she couldn't take it anymore. Viper was never one to put much effort into a relationship, Killjoy knew that. Viper was always cold, Killjoy knew that. Killjoy knew all the issues she'd have with Viper since the beginning but she always tried to make it work, so that's why it hurt.

The German decided to just do it, it doesn't need to be perfect. She scribbled down all her thoughts while tears flowed, she wanted to get this over with. She neatly folded the paper and put it in an envelope. Killjoy made her way over to Viper's lab, puffy red eyes, messy black hair, glasses stranded somewhere in her room. She knocked on the door and waited but Viper never opened it. She decided to speak, trying to get Viper's attention from outside the door, "S-abine..?" Killjoy's voice was cracked but she heard footsteps quickly walking to the door after that.

The door in front soon opened with Viper, "Maus..? Are you ok..?" Viper's voice was full of concern and worry but everything else told Killjoy otherwise. The younger never spoke, she handed the envelope to the Chemist and walked off, wiping her tears.

I'm not gonna beat around the bush, I'm breaking up with you. I know what I got myself into when I started this but Sabine, I was expecting at least some care. I wanted to make this work but it can't be one sided, I'm sure you loved me lots but if you can't show anything, I'm finished. I chase after your love and affection, your praise, your time, yet your poisons and rats have spent more time with you than I have. I understand, you're not a relationship type of person but I loved you Sabine.
I still do. Everything, everything everything everything, I loved everything about you. Nothing could change that but I'm sure this isn't healthy, being around someone who doesn't care about their girlfriend, I'm sorry Sabine. I love you, forever until this universe breaks.

Viper stared at this envelope, rereading lines of it. Tears were threatening to spill out of her eyes, for the first time in years, she wanted to cry. Cry her heart out because she lost someone, because she couldn't be there for her, because she couldn't be good enough. Viper clutched onto the paper regretting everything. 'I should've shown I loved her. This would've never happened if I wasn't so fucking ignorant.' Viper was mad, not at Killjoy for breaking up, no. She could never be mad at her ex-lover, she's mad at herself for not taking how Killjoy felt from how she acted. It was her fault, all her fault.

"If only I had a second chance, I'd make it all up to you."
