(Vi POV)
In full honesty I don't look for excuses to start a fight... okay maybe that was a lie, but this time I just felt bad or I would have ignored it. The enforcer and I finally caught up to them. Caitlyn stopped the girl while I grabbed the guy. "What's the problem here?" Caitlyn asked very seriously. "I caught that little thief in my kitchen eating the meal I had made for a customer!"
The girl whimpered a bit at the yelling from him, and Caitlyn gave her a glare. "So you're a thief?!" Caitlyn shouted at her making her flinch and cower. "Okay listen this is Zaun people steal things to survive it's not that big of a problem." Defending this girl who probably didn't even know how to speak felt better than yelling at the poor girl. "This is what we're gonna do, me and tall stuff over here are gonna deal with the girl and you're gonna head back to your restaurant and deal with your customers okay?" The guy looked pissed still but if I could get the girl away from him I might be able to check if she can talk. "Alright fine but, teach her a lesson will ya she deserves it!" I let go of the man and rolled my eyes. I gave Caitlyn a look, she gave me a glare back. "She's a thief shouldn't we have let him take her?" "And do whatever he wants? Probably kill her over one dumb meal? That's not gonna happen."
The girl seemed to be.. growling? Caitlyn let go of her and I grabbed her since she seemed to stumble a bit. She looked up at me seemed scared... "Can you speak?" I held onto her but her body seemed to shiver naturally. I couldn't help but feel sad, she was afraid to the point of vibrating constantly but that wasn't all. She was freezing as well, it could be a part of it. I grabbed onto the rag that was covering her head, when I did I held my breath at what I saw.
Two ears, ones of a wolf. I hadn't even noticed it until now but she had a black nose and paws. "You're a werewolf... but those are so rare now with all the bounty hunters..." Caitlyn coughed and interrupted me admiring something that is basically extinct. "Should we get back on track?" I looked at her and then back at the girl. "Do you have a name...?" The girl's ears went down, in all she was smarter than most. She knew to wear a rag to hide her ears and roughed hair. The girl held her breath for a few seconds before... "y-y-y/n". Oh thank god! She could at least say her name, that was more than a relief. "No wonder she was so hungry, hey, Caitlyn was it? I wanna make sure this one is safe so you don't mind if we get side tracked for a bit?"
Caitlyn scoffed at me before turning to think. "Fine whatever, no more than 3 hours though okay?" "Alright topsider~" I looked back at the girl. "What do you say we get you some food puppy?"
