It seemed like the next few months flew by.

Whenever the boys could, they called, or FaceTimed.

It was hard since they were in Europe for so long, but we made it work.

I privately video chatted with Luke once a week, where we'd catch up and just talk.

It was great but the only thing that bothered me was the fact that he couldn't label us. And I hated inferring about what we were, so when Abigail asked me one day what Luke and I were, I shrugged and told her I didn't know.

Calum had gotten Abigail's number and he seemed to keep an interest in my friend.

Jacob and Brianna had mutually decided to end whatever they had going on. Brianna was going to Seattle for college and Jake was going to Texas, a relationship didn't seem plausible.

Jacob and I both got summer jobs at the high school where we helped elementary and middle school kids learn their instruments better.

Jake also got a night shift at one of the local diners.

He was trying so hard to get as much money as possible before going to college.

His mom had sent him a check for a couple thousand dollars along with a note telling him to use it for buying dorm room stuff.

I knew Jacob well enough to know that he did not want to use that money but August was quickly approaching and he was a few thousand dollars short of where he thought he needed to be money wise.

Callie went back to college the first week of August.

She wanted to get settled into her new apartment that was on campus. She was sharing with one of her friends she had met while they both were in England studying.

Jacob loaded his car when the second week of August drew to a close.

He was due a week later at his school and he had to drive himself all the way to Texas.

He planned sleeping schedules and his route.

He actually planned to go straight down the west coast then curve out and head south west.

Jacob had planned on avoiding LA all together, however I convinced him that he could sleep in the guys' house for a night or two so he could actually have a bed to sleep in.

He was planning on sleeping in his car for the entire trip.

Two nights before my best friend left, we stayed in my bed and held each other close. I was going to miss him so much.

The day before he left, his mom stopped by.

Jacob wasn't too pleased to see her but she came bearing two gifts for her son.
