Skylar Miller
A girl who carries a load with her.
A load that never seems to lessen, only getting heavier and heavier.
She lost her best friends to popularity, only to gain more friends.
But with a gain, came the bullying.
Then she came of age for the national winter surf competition the same year it was supposed to be held in North Carolina; the exact place she has called home for the past 14 years.
She has the pressure of her older siblings, as they have all won multiple competitions, so what would she do if she lost this one?
And the arrival of people that she hadn't seen for the past 6 months, what more could go wrong?
Of course, Skylar and her older sister, Summer, go surfing the morning before the competition, only to come back in with something that shouldn't have happened.
There experienced surfers, so why did it happen?
Why did it happen to them?
