"You ready for tomorrow?" Shane questioned from the head of the table.
After many changes due to potential threatening weather conditions, the winter competition had finally been decided for tomorrow, Saturday.
"As ready as I'll ever be" I mumbled, continuously playing with my food.
"I'm sure you'll be fine. You've been training your whole life for this day" Jay chuckled, elbowing me, but I gave no reaction.
"Whatever you say" I retorted quietly.
Recently, I hadn't been feeling myself, for some reason.
Some reason that I didn't know.
"Sky, come with me for a second" Shane then got out of his seat, expecting me to get out of mine.
Which I made no move to do so.
I was then picked up like a small child and taken out of the room to wherever Shane wanted me to go.
I was then placed on the couch, being forced to face the two people that I hadn't spoken to since the incident at school.
Since they found out about it
"Whatever the fuck this attitude is, you need to stop it" Shane gritted.
He had never spoken to me like that.
"What the fuck is your problem?" I questioned, anger bubbling near the surface.
"You and whatever this attitude is" Shane responded, pointing a finger at me.
It was like he thought I had caused all this shit in this family.
"I'm sorry, but I never asked for you to be like the father I never had. I never asked for you to pressure that shit out of me so that I feel as though I can't talk to you. I'm sorry alright. I'm sorry that you can't deal with your little sister because she ruins your perfect lifestyle" I yelled, standing back up.
Grayson hadn't said a word, and I was grateful for it.
He was the one that always lost his temper at me because I never did what he asked.
Him and Blake were similar in that, because I would normally ruin everything for the two of them, but now, Grayson and Shane were looking more and more alike.
Maybe I didn't really know who Shane was anymore.
Maybe I didn't know who anyone in this family was anymore.
"I never said that I was acting like dad. I never said that you ruin anything. I just want to know when this new Skylar became a thing. I want to know where this old, sweet Skylar went that wanted to follow me wherever I went" Shane questioned me, as the tears started to well up in my eyes.
