It’s been four months since my last update and I am extremely sorry about it my dear readers. I’ve been busy in school a lot and there were lots of examinations to take and immeasurable projects to make. I’m trying my best and we’re halfway there~ Three more chapters to go~
Cato’s POV
Three days to go till prom and I am freaking out. The motif for our prom, well, it’s “ANYTHING” according to drunken Haymitch. Glimmer began to smirk when she knew that I was going to be paired up with her, and I am probably disappointed AF.
“Okay have a meeting with your partners.” Haymitch said in an intoxicated and raspy tone.
I approached Glimmer and then we planned on what we should wear in an instant.
“We’ll be wearing the same outfits as a couple.” Glimmer giggled excitedly. “We will be prom king and queen in no time.”
“Whatever you want Glimmer.” I said in an exasperated tone and Glimmer frowned at me.
“I know that you don’t want me to be partners with me.” Glimmer ferociously stared at me. “But, destiny calls. You have nothing to do about it.”
I believe in destiny but when it comes to couples… it isn’t just right. Well, in my understanding, destiny is just a coincidence or something. Destiny for me is actually my future. But my future isn’t going to be with Glimmer at all. I have no intentions of pairing up with her this prom. But, COINCIDENCE happened, not DESTINY.
“Fine, we’ll buy our outfits later after dismissal.”
“Dismissal will be in a few seconds.” Glimmer said while looking at our wall clock, and the bell of course, immediately rang.
Everyone instantaneously ran out of the classroom without Haymitch’s approval. It is class tradition; Haymitch is frequently drunk and sleepy, so yeah, we just escape this intoxicated dilemma when the bell rings. The bell is our knight in shining armor.
Clove’s POV
“I’m sorry if it has to end up this way.” Marvel apologized as he chose his outfit for the prom.
We probably ran out from the classroom and we went to the nearest mall we could find. It’s easier that way and we can avoid our noisy classmates.
“It’s okay Marvel, I don’t want to pair up with Cato anyway.” I said and I comforted him.
“Yeah, and I don’t want to be paired up with that hair stylist either.” Marvel said in disgust.
“Who’s the hair stylist?” I suppressed a laugh.
“It’s obviously Glimmer.” He grinned and both of us laughed.
We never thought about our motif. We were so confused and we just randomly choose outfits and return them back in the clothes hanger. I know it’s weird for us to choose the similar outfit… more like couple outfits, but I guess it might be uncomfortable for Marvel too. It’s cliché to have couple outfits and I think I have an even better idea.
“Your family is from District 1 right?” I asked him abruptly as he returned a blue tuxedo in the clothes hanger.
“Yes.” He smiled awkwardly. “District 1 is Luxury. Glimmer’s family belongs in District 1 too.”
“PERFECT!” I exclaimed happily as I pulled out a gold-colored tuxedo from another clothes hanger. “Gold represents luxury.”
“What do you mean?” Marvel asked; he is probably perplexed.
“Our motif is our past districts.” I said cheerfully. “We will be unique I promise.”
“I don’t think so.” A recognizable female’s voice interrupted our conversation. The sound of her voice made me shudder in fright.
I turned around slowly to face her and to my disclosure, it was hairstylist Glimmer…
And beside her was Cato.
