I stared at my reflection in the mirror. I just hoped I didn't look too hideous in my black sweats and black hoodie to go see a movie.
I had my hair packed into a bun under my hoodie and I had no make up on expect from my heavily mascaraed eye.

When I felt I had had enough I turned and left my room.
I looked at my phone it was some minutes after 7, I hoped I wasn't so late.
I walked downstairs to hear my mom screaming and cursing at someone on the phone.
I could see bottles of booze on the table. She was drinking again, something she had been doing often.

I couldn't help but feel bad for her which was pathetic of me. She didn't even notice when I left.
I took a cab to Emerald grill, the eatery I had texted Paxton. I could already see his Jeep in the parking lot.
I walked into the place and just one look around I found him.

He sat on a table, an empty chair opposite him. I guess that was for me. I couldn't help but take in his attire slowly. He had on a white hoodie and black baggie joggers.
I noticed he had his hair differently. It was styled to the back with gel supporting it's hold.
He did look very attractive from afar.

Exhaling softly I drank in my situation.
I didn't know what this was. A date or a hangout. I only knew I had never been asked anything like this before and the last time I had gone to see a movie was when I was 4.
My dad who had turned my worst nightmare had taken me to see a disney movie.
I didn't know what to expect from this though.

He raised his face and his eyes met mine. He gave me a smile which I tried to return and i walked up to him.
"Hey." I muttered. "I guess this is for me." I said taking my seat and he smiled again.
If he was mortified at how I looked he didn't show it at all. He didn't look like he even cared.
"You look good."

What!

What he said had taken me by surprise. I had forgotten the last time I had received a complement, even though it was just a simple statement and I looked anything far from good, it made my heart warm.

I gave him a geniue smile."Thank you."
"You're welcome... So let's just grab some snacks and be on our way. I don't wanna be late for the movie."
I wasn't hungry but I just nodded.

It was when he picked the menu on the table that I first noticed a tattoo peeking out of his hand and a heavy ring on his finger.

We both ordered burger and red wine.
We ate in silence although I felt his eyes watching me most of the time.
When we were done, he ignored me when I offered to pay and paid for it. Soon enough we were out and in his Jeep.

He turned on his radio and Sia's Bird set free filled my ears.
I stared out of the window and enjoyed the night lights blazing on the street.
I didn't even notice he decreased the volume till I heard his deep voice.
"Do you know what movie we're going to see?" I swear his accent was a killer.
I turned to him. He had a small smile on his face but his eyes remained on the road.
"No." I simply answered.

"It's Chemical hearts... I've seen it once though... Have you seen it before?" He looked at me briefly and I shook my head.
"It's nice... Although I warn you it will leave you bawling your eyes out." He grinned at his own joke.
"I hope not." I almost whispered and I exhaled softly.

They was a little silence before he called my name.
"Ronique?"
They was just something about the way he called my name.
I turned to him.
"Are you always so quiet?"
"Are you used to loud girls?" I blurted out before I could stop my self.
He rolled his eyes.  But before he could say anything I beat him to it.
"Is it a problem?"
He chuckled quietly. "It's fine... although creepy."
I narrowed my eyes at him. "Are you saying I'm creepy?"
"No... No..of course not." He laughed a little.
