"Wait! What? He kissed you?" Nina exclaimed bewildered.
I just nodded, my eyes fixed on the hamburgers on my plate.
"Oh my God! That's unbelievable."
I just shrugged.
I didn't know why I was telling Nina something I knew I would have kept so locked up in my heart but I just couldn't help it.
"Paxton Adkins kissed you after taking you to see a movie and a goddamn beach."

Okay... If she kept repeating that I think my ears are going to snap.
I just rolled my eyes and bit down my snack.
"Just eat already Nina, don't make me regret telling you."
She laughed then almost immediately gave a serious face.
"What?"
"You should really be careful about Paxton though, I don't want you getting hurt."

I scrunched my nose up.
"I know my way around Nina, no need to treat me like a goddamn 5 year old."
She looked at me for a while and smiled.
"If you say so honey." She said with a shrug and picked up her cheese roll and savoured.

I looked around the cafeteria, my eyes flickered to the table Paxton always sat with his friends but he wasn't there.
I frowned and thought for a while. Then it quickly dawned on me that he hadn't been to classes throughout.

Why hadn't I noticed that till now??

"Nina?"
"Yeah." She looked up at me.
"Have you by any chance seen him today?"
She raised a brow. "Who?" She wiped her mouth with a tissue.
"Paxton I mean."
She dropped the tissue on the plate and thought for a while.
"Nah.. I don't think so."

I twitched my lips.
"You should find out why." She muttered.
I gave her a puzzled look. "Should I?"
"Of cause Ronique, he's your friend... Might I add who kissed you yesterday. "I rolled my eyes and she chuckled.

The rest of classes ran so quickly as I had prayed.
I packed my books in a haste.
I had decided I was going to Paxton's to find why he wasn't at school and study with him too.
I slung my bag over my shoulder and Nina followed me out.

As we made our way out the gate, a car unexpectedly pulled up in front of us.
If we were not so fast am sure it would have had one of us.
"Who the fuck wants to get us killed?" Nina ranted, shock registered on her face.
The glasses came down and the braces that met me told me exactly who it was.
"Archie?" I almost screamed.
Nina did her signature eye roll, muttering 'psycho' under her breath.

"Hey b." He grinned wildly like he wasn't just about to kill someone.
"I will see you tomorrow Ronique." Nina pecked me, eyed up Archie and left.
"Need a ride?"
My attention back on Archie, I just nodded and got in.
"Tsk tsk tsk... Seems like she's not a big fan of me." He said as he eased the car into the street.
"Who would be a big fan of someone who almost killed her, that move was dangerous."
He laughed loudly. "But you guys are not dead."
I just rolled my eyes and exhaled softly.
"But... She's hot. You think I might have a chance." He gave me a toothy grin and I laughed.
"Not in this world."
He frowned which made me laugh again.

"So where are you headed and put on your fucking seat belt."
I dragged the belt out and tried to put it in. "To see a friend."
He chuckled. "I wanna believe I didn't hear that."
"What?" I turned to him.
"You don't fucking make damn friends man." He said between laughs.
I frowned, folded my arms and looked out of the window.

He really didn't have to remind me how anti social I was.
He seemed to notice something was off.
"Ronique? Hey."
"That was mean Archie." I muttered icily.
"Shit.. I'm so sorry Ron.. it just sounded awkward to me, never thought you could call someone a friend."
I still didn't bulge.
"Come... On..." He drawled dragging my arm, his left hand still on the steering wheel. "You can't just stay pissed off at me."

I slowly released my breath and turned to him.
"It's fine Archie." I suddenly smiled. "You're right... I guess I'm surprised too."
He chuckled. "I knew you couldn't stay mad at me for long. Man! I hate that."
"Arsehole ." I smacked his chest.
"Ouch!" He rubbed the spot I smacked. "You wanna give me a goddamn chest pain?"
I chuckled.
