Chapter 16

"Can this stupid light turn green already?" Paxton sneered and I chuckled.
"It's just two minutes left. How can you be so impatient at the last minutes?"
"It feels so much like 2 hours." He pouted and I laughed.

We were currently in his car and on our way to school. Even after he left my house yesterday he came to my house early today to pick me up.

"Finally." He sighed immediately the traffic light turned green.
He gave me a funny smile and I couldn't help but laugh again.

"I will see you after classes okay?" He said the moment we came down from his car in the school's parking lot.
I nodded and he gave me a peck which I knew made my cheeks rosy and my heart melt. I smiled at him.
I took my school bag from him and walked off.

As I tried to put my books in my locker...
"Hey bitch." Nina said directly into my ears causing my locker to almost hit my fingers.
"You little fuck." I sneered turning to her which earned me a giggle.
"I love you too." She prattled.
"Heyy Ronique." I turned to see Cheryl was with her.
She had dyed her hair a dark blue and she had this huge smile on her face.
"I love your hair." I complimented.
She dramatically fanned herself in a blush way.
"Thank you girl, but look at you." She peered closely into my face making me tilt my head back a little. "You're glowing girl, wanna talk about it?" She wiggled her eyebrows.

What in the world was she talking about?

I rolled my eyes. "I'm not glowing and am literally not going to talk about anything."
Nina laughed. "You sure are going to girl, I mean your cold demeanor seems almost gone."
"Yeah." Cheryl added giggling.
"Can you two just please get lost... Shoo!!" I drawled and they both laughed, Cheryl putting her tongue out in a funny way then I actually saw she pierced her tongue.
"You pierced your tongue." I called out to her.
Nina turned to Cheryl immediately. "Seriously?"
She giggled. "Isn't it pretty?"
I just shrugged. It was her tongue not mine.
"It's gross." Nina didn't hide the disgust in her voice.
Cheryl pouted. "You two are no fun at all." Then she smiled. "It doesn't matter what you two say though and I don't fucking care." She laughed.
Typical Cheryl. She doesn't give a fuck.

"What about Myron anyway?" I asked.
"That crazy guy? Hehe, he ditched school to go see a guy he met on tinder."
"What?" Nina laughed.
"And might I add it's a three hours drive from here."
I shook my head. "The guy's really crazy."
Cheryl nodded. "Super crazy, can't wait to hear all about it though." She chuckled.

The class bell rang.
"Well uh, I will be leaving first. I've got Biology." I announced.
"Yeah me too." Nina said.
"Okay before you guys run off I was going to invite you two for Josh's birthday bash. It's going to be at his place and trust me it's gonna be lit, like super legit."
"Sure." Nina smiled.
"What about you Ronique?"

I wasn't sure I had ever been to a party but I was sure it was going to involve so many people. Yes, I had said I was going to go for the out on weekend but I wasn't sure about this.
"Stop overthinking this shit girl. It's gonna be real fun. There would be alcohol, food, boys." Cheryl pressed on.
"I'm not sure... " I started to say.
She cut me off. "Come on girl, you need to live a little, even if it's just a little. Josh's place by 9. I will be expecting you and Nina or even Paxton can bring you there. Him and Josh are on the same team I'm sure he would be there. So peace." She said with a grin and left.

I turned to Nina who just shrugged. "She's right girl." She threw me a friendly punch. "Live."
I rolled my eyes at her, which caused her to laugh and we made our way to Biology class.
"And uhh..." She started talking again. "I was actually going to ask if you could go with me to pick something out for my parents anniversary, it's near and my head is very much blank. I don't know what to get them."
I turned to her. "Your parents are still together?"
She looked amused at my question. "Why not? As a matter of fact. It's their silver jubilee. I'm sure my elder brothers are going to get them super cool things but I'm just gonna try, would you help me?"
