"The next time we see each other, if we ever do, it'll be because I'd finally gained the courage to burn the world for you."

I am sitting in a chair in Ash Sullivan's office. I find myself in this position for the second time this week. Except for the first time he wasn't here and now he is. Sitting across from him in his natural habitat, adorned in an Armani three-piece, a Rolex on his wrist. A glass of McCallan was nearly emptied in his hand.

I wondered what brought us to this point.

Aria,
I accept your response. Club Nyx, tonight at 10 pm. I hope to see you soon, Ms. Middleton.

Regards,
AS

I was surprised that he used the means of emailing to contact me-none the less I was happy for the professionalism kept between us. If we were going to work together, we need to find a common ground for us to be able to get along. Without chewing each other's heads off, that is. I texted Marae with the necessary updates.

Me: He accepted. As if I was the one to request the meeting in the first place.

Marae: Conceited as ever. Are you attending alone?

Me: Yes, he is. Of course not, I am dragging you along.

Marae: Expected. What are the details?

Me: Club Nyx. At 10 pm.

Marae: Does he know about a few nights ago?

Me: Yes.

Marae: How? You were careful.

Me: I told him.

Me: Are you here yet?

Marae: On my way, got caught up at work.

Me: I'll meet you inside then.

When I entered the Club, it wasn't nearly as packed as the last time. Since I was early, I decided to get a drink. Dorian, the guard that escorted me to Ash's office, informed me that he was still in a meeting and would attend to me in a few minutes. Marae arrived ten minutes later, we shared a few drinks and incredulous laughs while ogling the male species.
