Becoming spies?! Getting close to members of the Phalanax?! My head felt light at these words. Why on earth would I want to get close to an organization that took away one of my very close friends?!"We have to... become members..?" I could tell Endre was at the same loss of words that I was at. Einar responded with a nod and an 'mmhmm'.
"If you can spy on their group without becoming members that would be ideal but it is really up to you two what works and what doesn't. If I recall correctly someone said the leader was on Asgard not too long ago so be careful when you go back." The old man sat and thought some more. "I should also mention that the Phalanax and the elves of Svartalfheim are not working together. Even though they both invaded Asgard at the same time, they have completely different goals and it might help to try to get the elves on your side. That is all I know."
"Thank you so much sir, and I promise we will get you out of these confines very shortly." Endre gave the old man a small bow. The old man waved at him to stop talking.
"That's what you said the last time and it has been 3 months.." Einar raised an eyebrow.
"So sorry sir!" Endre's face looked extremely guilty. "But really, thank you very much for helping."
Endre stood up, looked around and started walking towards the door. I started to follow when I heard the lady's voice quietly float towards me.
"Be careful young lady. You never know who is lying." I looked back and she was looked directly at me. Looking ahead I could see that Endre didn't hear her. Looking back once more I gave her a small nod.
What did she mean? Who is lying? Did she mean the old man, Einar?
Finding our way back was pretty easy because all we had to do was retrace our steps. We walked mostly in quiet on the way back.
"Do you think we will actually have to join the Phalanax?" Endre's voice was full of fear and it scared me a little. I sighed.
"I'm not sure.. I'm hoping not but I don't want to make any promises I can't keep." Endre looked very upset when I said this so I changed my way of thinking. "Look on the bright side, once this is over and done for we won't have to worry about this dumb group anymore and all the Asgardians can go back home and I can go back to Earth." He was about to respond when I heard a voice not belonging to either of us.
"Hey! Stop there! Just who are you and why are you here?" CRAP! It was a frost giant. We had let our guard down and now we were caught.
"Run!" Endre said and just like that we were running for our lives. Despite us being exhausted and tired we were able to find our way back while running for our lives. That mile run I had done earlier in the day was really showing in my legs I was near exhausted and cramping up. Also because I really just wasn't fit at all.
When we got to the boulder Endre pushed it open in one push because he was obviously so terrified of the frost giant. (I should mention that by this point there were 3 or 4 chasing us. It was hard to tell because the hallway was narrow). The cold outside whipped against my skin and I let out a gasp because of how cold it was. If I have to be honest, I'm not sure what happened next all I remember is running towards the area we came in, and the sudden rainbow of the bifrost. The next thing I knew I was warm again and we were standing in the circular building that Lyric and I had come through so long ago. I felt a hand on my shoulder and turned to see Endre holding his stomach and bending over.
"Ew dude, if you're going to be sick, don't be sick on me PLEASE." I was panting as I said this because I still didn't have my breath back from all the running.
