"I didn't mean to hurt you Lou-"

"Well, you did."

That was the last thing Lou and Y/n said to one another before Y/n moved out of town for a couple of years. The two women had been a couple for a few years now, but because of a huge fight, they broke up. It wasn't that they didn't want to be together anymore, they loved each other actually, they were just at some really different places in their life. But when Debbie called Y/n to ask her if she wanted to be part of her team to steal the Toussaint, she couldn't resist but accept. She hadn't stolen anything in a long time and she missed the adrenaline.

So the woman drove all the way back to her natal town and she was really happy when she saw Debbie. They were friends since they were twelve years old and it was Debbie who introduced Y/n and Lou. The two friends were having brunch while Debbie exposed her plan in details to Y/n and she also told her that by the time she arrived, she had the time to recruit everyone she needed. After the brunch, Debbie drove them to a loft with apparently all the team inside. When the women entered in the building, Y/n immediately spotted Lou and she stopped. The blond woman on the other hand was too busy laughing with two unknown women to see her ex.

"I'm sorry Deb, but I can't, I don't know how it will be between Lou and I and I don't want to ruin your amazing plan." Y/n started to walk out, but her friend took her wrist to not let her go.

"Please Y/n, we need you and I know Lou is over your breakup, don't stress with that." Y/n bit the inside of her cheek, but Debbie's words succeeded to make her change her mind.

"Fine, I'll do it. Now, introduce me to the rest of the crew."

Y/n wasn't as essential as Debbie seemed to let it appear and she knew it. Her only job was to drive the crew members to their position and to pick them up at the end, it wasn't the most important job in this plan. But she really wanted to steal something and her cut at the end was worth it. Y/n followed Debbie in the central room of the loft and she asked for everyone's attention. When Lou turned around and saw her ex, the smile on her face disappeared. She wasn't expecting the last member to be Y/n.

"So guys, this will be our marvellous driver, Y/n. Y/n, this is Nine Ball, Rose, Constance, Tammy, Amita and of course Lou." Y/n looked down after she heard her ex's name.

Later that day, Y/n got the news that her brother was sick so she took some time alone outside the loft. She was on the beach, throwing rocks as far as she could in the water when she heard foot steps approaching. She turned and saw Lou. The blond had a worried looking face and she asked the other woman what was going on. With all the years they spent together, Lou knew Y/n by heart and she could tell that something was wrong.

"It's my brother.. he's sick. It's so fucked up, he's the kindest human being, it's so unfair!" Y/n threw another rock in the water with all her strength. She grunted and it made all the stress come out so she crouched down and closed her eyes. The comforting touch of Lou on her back made her open them again.

"Yeah, you're right, he doesn't deserve this." There was a silence between the two women before Y/n stood up.

"I'm really sorry for how it ended up between us. I needed some time to process, but my reaction was exaggerated." Y/n was giving Lou a loving gaze, she had missed her a lot and she wanted to do everything she could to get her woman back.

"I'm sorry too, but it's not your fault that you didn't want to have kids at the time and I should have accepted that." Lou pulled Y/n into that comforting embrace that the woman had missed so much. Being in Lou's arms made her believe that maybe there was a chance they could go back together.

"Oh, there you are Lou, for a moment I thought that Debbie had locked you up in your bedroom for later." Said Nine Ball winking at the blondie with a smirk when Lou and Y/n came back in the loft.

After that comment, there was a lot of varied reactions. First, there was Debbie, standing next to the stairs, her arms crossed on her chest, who was giving a look full of reproaches to Nine Ball. After, there was Lou, who was standing there, trying to avoid any eye contact with her ex, an ashamed look on her face. And finally, there was Y/n. At first, the woman didn't get why Nine Ball had said that so she was staring at her with her mouth slightly open and her eyebrows furrowed. Seeing that the new recruit didn't understand what she meant by that, Nine Ball turned her face to look at Debbie with a big grin on her face. She nodded and stated:

"You didn't tell her!" Nine Ball's gaze was switching from Debbie to Lou and both of them looked down. Suddenly, Y/n had an enlightenment.

"You are together..." Said Y/n in a sad tone trying to process everything. Nine Ball laughed, not knowing the severity of what she just announced.

"Good job Nine Ball." Whispered Debbie for the person in question to be the only one who could hear her. "You should go now." She said louder. The woman obeyed, letting the love triangle alone in the room.

"Why didn't you tell me? You wanted to keep that a secret from me for ever?!" Exploded Y/n. She hated them both so much for not telling her. She was enraged and she wasn't able to think straight.

"Y/n, listen please-" Started Debbie, but Y/n spoke over her.

"No, I don't wanna listen, I thought we were friends, you should've told me! And you," Y/n said now facing Lou, "I really thought that this caring moment outside meant that you still wanted to be with me, but I guess I was wrong.. I'll help you for your stupid plan, but after, I don't ever want to hear about you two, it would be too hard..."

And like she said, Y/n executed her job at the perfection and when she was driving Lou, alone with her in the car, the blond woman apologized for all the hurt Y/n had to go through and she asked to stay in contact, but it was too hard for Y/n to see the one she loved with her best friend. She just wanted to start her life all over again and that's what she did once the heist was done. She gave a part of her money to her brother to pay for his treatment and she used the rest to move out, again. Y/n tried to live a normal life after that, going on trips and just enjoying her life, but there was always this hole in her heart that Lou used to fill at the time they were a couple...
