i been doing stupid things, wilder than i've ever been, you've become my favorite since
---
Something changed after that night, and you began seeing the Joker as less of your criminally sociopathic boss and more of a very attractive man you were having very bad thoughts about. Of course, you couldn't think about one without thinking about the other, and this led to some really bad choices on your part.
You couldn't stop looking at him. You'd always known he was attractive, but it was almost as if you'd been completely blind before, and you were seeing him now for the first time. When he was relaxed, you watched his smiles, the way his shirts would ride up his stomach, exposing his pale skin and stark, black tattoos. When he was violently angry, you saw his long, slim fingers manipulating the trigger of a gun, the strong, lean lines of his body as he wielded a knife with wild abandon. You saw his chest and throat splattered with someone else's blood, his head tossed back as he laughed.
You watched, and you knew he saw it. But you couldn't bring yourself to stop.
He knew, but he didn't bring it up. Maybe he just liked the attention. But he didn't tell you to stop, so you didn't.
Even the boys were starting to notice. Sharkey and Frost were the most understanding, with Sharkey nudging you every time you looked too long and Frost pulling you aside exactly one time to talk about it.
"Don't go there," he'd said quietly. "Trust me, Y/N. Nothing good will come of it."
"I wasn't going to do anything," you protested.
"I know. You're smarter than that," he agreed. "But the last time anybody thought it would be a good idea to get in bed with the Joker, it ended badly." He winced. Clearly there were bad memories here.
"Who said I wanted to fuck him?" You demanded, not wanting to think about what could have happened to the last person.
Frost held up his hands in surrender. "Whatever it is you want to do, don't do it."
"I'm not going to."
"Good." And that was the end of that.
Foxy and Panda, of course, were absolutely no help. Panda barked at you when he first noticed, grinning like an idiot. Foxy joined in, and you had to pretend like you were going to pull your gun before they would shut up. But all of that aside, nothing came of it.
Until something did, of course, and then it all went straight to hell.
You and the guys (except for Frost, he was on some sort of job for Joker) went out for drinks. You'd just finished a difficult task- interrogating multiple people who were very reluctant to give up their information. Sharkey had made the decision for all of you that you needed to unwind, and no one was about to argue.
You were at a club you'd already forgotten the name of, you and Foxy having once again paired up to dance while Panda hit on the bartender and Sharkey pretended he wasn't watching the two of you. Eventually, as was habit now, Sharkey and Foxy split off, and you were alone on the dance floor.
An attractive, dark-haired man had taken Foxy's place at your side, and frankly, you were loving the attention. He was smirking down at you and his hands rested on your hips as you moved in time to the beat.
"Wanna get out of here?" he asked, raising his voice to be heard over the music.
You grinned at him, about to answer, and then a gunshot rang out. The man dropped to the floor, and you jumped back, biting back a curse as the man's blood splattered on you. What was it with random shootings at clubs in Gotham? Clubs that you were at?
You looked up. Stalking through the crowd, gun in hand, was the Joker. Alone.
"Sir?" you asked, bewildered. You were frozen to the spot.
"Party's over," he said tersely. "C'mere, Y/N."
Helpless to resist, you followed him out of the club.
