Autumn made her way to Richards office as he had asked to speak to her after she had dropped Evie off at daycare.

Autumn entered Richards office as he looked up at her with a small smile placed on his lips as he saw one of his students. "Good morning chief Webber." Autumn said as she returned the smile.

"Good morning Dr Montgomery please take a seat." Richard says as Autumn takes a seat opposite him as she looks at Richard.

"You wanted to see me?" Autumn questions him as he smiles at her with a nod.

"Yes I just wanted to discuss how you've been doing since you came to Seattle Grace Mercy West." Richard tells her as Autumn nods slightly.

"I've been doing great and I think I made the best decision coming here especially for my career I've been able to have opportunities I couldn't have dreamt of at another hospital." Autumn says as Richard smiles at her.

"Your a very talented surgeon Autumn and I've had high recommendations from your mentors and your colleagues here. Autumn the head of Cardiothoracic surgery is still open and I want to know if you'd like the job." Richard says as Autumns eyes widen at the opportunity she had just been presented with especially being a first year attending.

"With all respect sir I'm only a first year attending and there must be loads of amazing cardio surgeons who are more experienced and better for the role." Autumn says as Richard looks at her.

"Maybe there are some cardio surgeons with more experience but none that have your talent and skills. I believe your one the best cardio surgeons I've seen in all my years as a general surgeon. And I also believe that you would be great as the head of cardio." Richard says as a smile grew on Autumns face.

Autumn stood outside as Owen,Jackson and Cristina walked out with another surgeon she hadn't met yet and Owen looked at her.

"Teddy this is Autumn Montgomery our newly appointed head of cardio so I have heard congratulations Dr Montgomery and Autumn this is Teddy Altman one of my best friends and one of the best surgeons I know." Owen congratulated her.

"Thank you Dr Hunt and nice to meet you Dr Altman." Autumn says as she smiles at the new surgeon.

"It's nice to meet you too Dr Montgomery." Teddy says to her as Autumn offers her a smile.

Autumn finished up with her patient as she was filling out some files as Cristina came up to her. " Dr Montgomery I wanted to talk to you about the new Cardio attending." Cristina says as Autumn turns to face her.

"What's up Dr Yang?" Autumn says as Cristina looks at her.

"The new cardio attending doesn't even know how to put in a temporary pacemaker. How am I supposed to learn anything? She's not seen an O.R in I don't know how many years." Cristina says as Autumn looks at her.

"Dr Altman is an exceptional surgeon as both Chief Webber and Dr Hunt have assured me Dr Yang. Look we don't always get what we want in life but you asked for Cardio attending's you've got two. I truly believe that you have a gift Dr Yang but you need to learn that this isn't how it works your the student we are the teachers we decide. So if you have a problem take it up with Dr Altman." Autumn says to her as she walks away from her.

Autumn made her way to the E.R as she was paged as she sees one of the nurses. "Hey I was paged?" Autumn asks them as the nurse looks at her.

"Someone in bed 6 was asking for you." The nurse tells autumn as she turns around confused as she sees a familiar face.

"Luke hey what are you doing here? I didn't even know you were in Seattle." Autumn says as she hugs her friend as he smiles hugging her back as he saw her.

"Yeah I'm between here and New York. After college my dad expanded the office and he made me partner so I spend most of my time in Seattle but fly back to New York for a few big cases. And I saw you earlier thought I'd say hi while I'm here." Luke says as he sits back on the bed as Autumn smiles at him.

"Well it's really good to see you Luke but how come you in the E.R?" Autumn asks hun concerned for her friend.

"Oh just the usual sprained wrist thought I'd might of broke it I tripped over the dog on my way down the stairs. So what about you? How's life last I heard you had a kid?" He asks her as Autumn smiles at him.

"Yeah I do Evie she's nearly three actually and you know life's busy with being a surgeon and being a mom don't really have time for anything else really. What about you anything else?" Autumn asks him as he shakes his head.

"No not really I'm running the office here in Seattle and living with my dog. My mom and Dad are expecting me to settle down like Liam has seems he the perfect son. He's married now with two sons and he's working in construction." Luke tells Autumn as they catch up for a while.

Autumn had asked Luke to stick around for lunch as she had no more surgeries scheduled and he had the day off.

Autumn had got Evie from daycare as she had introduced her to Luke as the three headed into the cafeteria for lunch as they sat down at the table as Mark sat with Callie and Arizona.

Marks eyes fell on his daughter and the mother of his child sat with a man he hadn't seen before as he watched them laughing together as the man interacted with his daughter.

"Hey have you any idea who that is with Autumn and Evie?"Mark says as Callie looks over to the three sat at the table with a small smile on her face.

"I have no idea but Autumn sees happy for the first time in a while he seems good for her. Hey maybe they are on a date." Callie says as Mark watches them.

"She hasn't mentioned to me that she's seeing anyone." Mark says as Arizona looks at him.

"She doesn't have to tell you who she's seeing I mean you share a child but she has her own life and she doesn't ask about your relationship with Lexie." Arizona tells him as Callie nods agreeing with her girlfriend.

"Yeah well she knows Lexie I've never met this guy and she's introducing him to my daughter I deserve to know who's in my daughters life." Mark says as he got up and made his way to the three of them.

"Daddy!" Evie squealed as she saw Mark and a smile grew on her face as Autumn and Luke turned their attention to Mark.

"Hey Sweetheart." Mark says as he picks up his daughter as Autumn looked at him as he looked at her.

"Luke this is Mark he's Evie's dad and Mark this is Luke a friend of mine from college." Autumn says as she introduces the two as the nod at each other both feeling uncomfortable.

"Hey i just wondered if I could have Evie tonight me and Lexie have something planned for her." Mark says as Autumn looked at him feeling something grow inside her as she became slightly angry at the mention of Lexie.

"Not tonight Mark I already have plans maybe another night." Autumn quickly replies as Mark looks at her slightly taken back.

"What do you mean i haven't had her in nearly a week." Mark says as he looks at autumn.

"I said not tonight Mark and to be honest I don't want Evie around your latest whatever it is with you and Lexie." Autumn says as she stood up.

"What's that supposed to mean? And it alright for you to have with some complete stranger I've never even met." He says as he points at Luke.

"Lukes my friend and we are catching up not that it's any of your business. Your not having Evie tonight and if you want to see her you can see her at my apartment or you can have her when you have the apartment to yourself." Autumn says as she takes her daughter back to daycare and says goodbye to Luke.

Autumn had picked Evie up from daycare as she headed home with Mark still playing on her mind as she was still trying to figure out why she was so angry towards his relationship with Lexie.
