 'PRESENT '

I needed to object. I needed to stop this wedding from continuing.

That way, me and Ryder could work out.

As more flashes of what happened only made me squirm standing here, clutching onto my bouquet—Jasmine stood next to me, both of us peering ahead to view the entire audience who were happily staring at Ryder and Angela.

I had to do something. He couldn't marry her if I could help it.

I now knew too that the only reason I'd been picky dating all these years was because my whole heart had been given to him a long time ago. I just didn't figure it out in time. I wasn't ready or wanted it to be released yet.

But what if after last night, he decided he didn't want me after all?

"And by the power invested in me, I now pronounce you husband and wife. You may kiss your bride..." The officiant chanted out as the acoustics took me by a storm.

Oh no. No, no, no. I was already too late?!

I guess I had been so lost in my memories, I had missed the entire thing without knowing. Spinning my head to stare deep into the man I wanted to spend the rest of my life with, I could immediately see his stoned cold face.

Angela's joyful and perky emotions then lunged toward him, laying a big one on his lips that were all over mine hours ago as everyone cheered on.

Not moving a muscle, Ryder simply just stood there and let her take the lead. His hands were frozen by his sides. He was visibly stiff, yet intently staring...to me.

"What? No." I shrieked as Jasmine picked up on my own rigid appearance. All while clapping consumed the room.

"Faith, what's wrong?" I eyed her carefully shaking my head.

Everything.

Everything about this was like a romance movie or novel gone wrong.

I could still barely move. I felt like my world was crumbling down, being crushed into a million shattering and agonizing pieces. My heart ached with so much regret and sorrow, that I wanted to rip it out and have Angela stomp on it until she tired out.

The tears swelled up again in my eyes. It was like this was somehow my fault now. Was I suppose to object to the marriage which would've told him I was in love with him too, and what went down wasn't just a wild moment in time that I didn't want?

The miscommunication between us had never been more unsalvageable.

But with just one look from Jasmine at my expressions, she too grew flushed and pale as well. "Oh no. Faith, did you and Ryder-" She started to say with almost the same feelings as me.

I couldn't bring myself to even respond with any words. The room just kept getting louder with more chants and praises to the new bride and groom.

The man of my dreams was officially married.

"Please let's welcome for the first time, Mr. And Mrs. Ryder Jackson McKenna!" The officiant soon yelled.

Did he ever just stop talking?! Oh, who was I kidding? I was doing enough silence for all of us in the room.

Continuing to stare helplessly at him and Angela who kept holding him tight, her family cheers and hugs to them in passing pained me more. She had nothing but tears of joy filling up in her eyes. Ryder's were now cold and grey, but going through the motions before they finally exited through the doors.
