Endless Possibilites

After spending the rest of my night crying to my Dad about last night's blunder, it was finally the next day and surprisingly...I was still somewhat optimistic about this whole plan.

Sure at the moment, Olivia's gut wrenching hissy fit was the worst experience I had since I arrived here, but it shouldn't have brought me completely down.

I knew who I was inside and it was nothing that she said.

Judging by Jasmine's pumped attitude that she kept going on about toward me and Ryder's performance, while we were now waiting for my car to be finished with a new paint job and a few tune checks—my mood was ready to be picked up and so was my vehicle.

"Come on! The entire school could see Ryder was like a whole new person up on that stage with you! You guys were electric, Faith!" She professed, trying to make me feel better.

Amazingly, it was working.

I still had a few reservations though pondering over the minute we had to return to school today after taking the morning off to get this task done, but it wasn't anything I couldn't manage.

"Thanks, but what about Olivia? What am I going to do if I see her again? I may have let her slide last night, but there's no telling where my fist will go if I see even an inch of her head." I replied bitterly. She giggled and waved me off.

"Hon please, let me do the violence for you. It helps me feel more energetic anyway. Just ignore her as best as possible. She's just jealous that you've been acting more a girlfriend to Ryder than she has for the last couple of years, and you're not even officially friends."

I smiled warmly, delighted to hear her encouraging feelings about the matter. I just had to keep reciting them in my head repeatedly. Yet, I did feel a bit discouraged over the reality of how much she was right too.

Ryder and I hadn't declared a solid friendship yet.

For all I knew after last night, he probably decided against giving us that chance and stick with his own clique. Crazier things had happened. I had time to figure it all out though, and I had an elixir that could keep me here for as long it would take for him to accept at some point.

"Miss Harper, five minutes!" The car mechanic called out to me.

Smiling with a kind nod, I then heard Jasmine's phone buzz off. Promptly looking down to it, she began reading as her face lit up brightly and squealed.

"Yay! We did it!"

"Did what?"

"Just the best thing that could happen on Homecoming week!" She replied. Oh crap, I almost forgot about that. "See Ryder paved the way for spirit week yesterday at the club as class president and basketball caption, but now it's up to the head cheerleader to finish it off the remainder of the week. So before we drove to my house the other day, I asked Devin who just decided to respond to me now after our fight, if the Rec center would let us host an event there before the big game on Friday!"

"Did they say yes?!" I asked eagerly.

She nodded excitedly. "Yep!"

"Oh my god, that's amazing! Congrats!" I told her proudly.

"I know! But I hope you know I'll still need help again in some way to put it all together. Please!" She pleaded.

My eyes enlarged in surprise. School spirit was a big deal with her and I always did chip in with the theme since we became friends—but between everything that has happened I didn't know how much I could do this time around. After a week and a day, I was becoming drained of thinking of any new ideas to be honest, but I knew I couldn't let her down. She had done so much for me.
