Screw fourth tries. This was now impossible.
Trying to get Ryder's attention to even speak to me again without him always running away, kept becoming even harder than raising a child the way I saw Jasmine do with her kids.
He was now voted as the world's most stubborn man I've ever met.
But for the next three days, it wasn't even me being the bother anymore.
On Wednesday during fourth period while Jasmine was napping through all the English lectures Mrs. McGee went on and on about still—it should've tipped me off then that something was weird, because Ryder was sitting directly behind me.
Thinking it was a good idea that he finally wanted to be somewhat close, the minute I dropped my book on the floor by accident, his soft hands brushed against the back of my neck. My mind didn't take a second to dream that he didn't stop for whatever reason he was doing so, feeling so aroused at just his slight touch that reminded me of our passionate night together.
The way those same hands squeezed in places I surely didn't have much of now on my body—showing no mercy the more energetic we both became. I wanted to jump over his desk here, and show no mercy in giving him the best make-out session I'm sure he hadn't experienced yet in his younger life with the new things I'd personally learned as I got older. Some of them recently from him even. That would probably get me at least farther than I was. But lust wasn't love. I don't think it would count.
As soon as the final bell rang and everyone had left the room, I kept getting a series of people chuckling and giggling, along with pinching me from all angles they could find the more I continued walking.
"Ow! Hey! Stop it! What's your problem?!" I kept only vocalizing for a solid five minutes.
Having enough of it all, I moved my hand behind to get a feel for what it could possibly be, pulling out a piece of paper and tape that was attached to my shirt.
Reading what it said, I grunted, turning back around to notice Ryder with Adam at his locker—watching and recording on their flip phones and having a blast.
Nice to know my wild fantasy wouldn't really matter either. He still loathed me.
"Really, Ryder?! A 'Pinch Me' sign?! That's wonderful, thank you. What are you, five?! This is so early 2000s, boys!" I shouted. "Wait..." I finally muttered, understanding that's exactly why he did it. Crumpling it up though, I threw it back channeling in my little league baseball training I did with my Dad.
Rolling his eyes still very pleased with himself, Ryder grabbed his backpack from the floor and happily walked away.

By gym that same day, the entire class was playing dodgeball. I wanted nothing more than to sit out of that remembering it never typically ended well for me. But unfortunately I couldn't...and it only got worse.
Since Jasmine had to go to practice for an upcoming football game during this time, I had the lovely pleasure of having the same class with not only Ryder but also Andrea and Olivia.
How exciting.
"Not the face! Please not the face! It's only going to get older over time, so just please be gentle!" I pleaded with whoever was on the other team, hiding behind other good players that were everyone but myself.
But the second a young girl on my team got hit and out, I was an open target. Now with only Andrea and I left. From the opponent's side, there was only Olivia and Ryder. Just great. Groaning, I turned around to regroup while we were on a short break.
