Another Kind of Chance

"This is why the school board wanted us to inform all high school students this special and very important lesson on what happens when two people—preferably adults if you ask me are very attracted to each other, and want to take their relationship further. Do we all understand now?" The health teacher spoke out in class.

He didn't have to worry about that when it came to me though.

I was on the verge of gaining my own lesson for it last night if I had let things go further than it needed to at this time. But I couldn't even dwell on that as much, as the fear I had just possibly screwed up everything with Ryder.

From the disappointed, mystified, to understandable look on his face over something I took full responsibility for initiating in the first place. But I really didn't need to hear another lesson on how intimacy worked in the real world given my real age.

Now that he had an entire night to ponder about all that went down including me sneaking out this morning from his home, he most likely did hate me.

Sighing to myself feeling like I just won the lottery and quickly lost it on the same day, I decided I had to show him I was willing to try again if he wanted. So writing down the information to my art show tonight for him to come if he'd wanted to give this another chance in a better way, the school bell finally rang for us to go.

I promptly jumped up and raced out of the room to his locker.

I hadn't seen Ryder all day yet, but I didn't know whether it was because of me or something else. But I was still going to try to make us good again.

Once I made it over there, I sighed folding it up while kissing the paper with a smear of my usual jelly lipgloss—slipping it into the cracks at the top.

"Please just come back to me, baby..." I let out to myself.

As I began looking around me, I suddenly saw a slender looking young boy creepily grinning toward my way from afar, obviously hearing my words.

Shyly smiling back waving, I raced away from the area as fast as possible.

"What happened?!" Jasmine asked me eagerly.

We were running the mile for gym on the track field with still no sign of Ryder anywhere.

Yet, that still didn't stop Jasmine to bombard me with frantic questions I didn't mind answering to her about the truth of what took place. But she was more intrigued by the fact that he took me to his house for the rest of the night, out of everything else that day. She didn't have to worry either.

"Easy. Bad girl Faith mainly took over...then the good one slapped me back to reality and made nothing happen." I reported.

"What?! But you were at his house! No one has ever been. Not even Adam!"

"Wow, really?!" I asked in shock. She giggled before I simply sighed shaking my head. Wish I knew that before. Actually no, I would've still done the same thing. "Doesn't matter I don't think anymore. I couldn't do anything Jaz. He's always taken! I'm not gonna do that to his wife, I'm certainly not gonna-" I blurted out, trying to focus more on the running.

"Wait, wife?" Jasmine shot out bewildered.

"Hmm?!" I realized what I just announced, feeling my body tensing up all over again.

"You said wife. Ryder's married now?" She reiterated, honestly still baffled.

"No...I didn't mean wife. I meant l-l-life. Ya know, create confusion in it." I covered.
