Dog Man: Fetch-22 with Petey and Maddie

Chapter 9: Run, Zuzu, Run!

Zuzu ran and ran. She zipped through a forest. She zipped under a bridge. She zipped through the neighborhood. She zipped and zipped until she found her destination: Petey's Lab. She didn't glance up at the new letters, which read "Petey & Family". All Zuzu cared about was the help she and her friends needed.

She rushed into the house and ran upstairs. There, Grampa and Lil' Petey were arguing about something that Lil' Petey had did, with Maddie and her grandmother watching.

"You did, too!" Grampa argued.

"I did not!" Lil' Petey argued back.

"Will you guys please stop?" Maddie asked.

"Especially you," Stellaluna said, looking at Grampa. She decided to go along with Grampa's lies about him being Petey, though she was a little stubborn with him.

That was when Zuzu ran and stopped in front of Lil' Petey. "Oh, hi, Zuzu," Lil' Petey greeted.

"What are you doing here, Zuzu?" Maddie asked, walking over and crouching down in front of Zuzu.

Zuzu started barking, explaining the situation to Lil' Petey and Maddie. "What's that you say?" Lil' Petey asked. "Dog Man's in trouble?"

Zuzu barked more. "Sarah and Chief, too?" Lil' Petey asked. Zuzu barked and howled.

"Unspeakable evil?" Maddie asked in shock. "Mindless chaos? Unlimited supa powers with no moral compass?"

"This looks like a job for the Supa Buddies!" Lil' Petey said as Zuzu wagged her tail. "C'mon, Zuzu! C'mon, Maddie!"

Lil' Petey, Zuzu, and Maddie ran to the window and opened it. "80-HD, don't fail us now!" Lil' Petey and Maddie called out. That was when 80-HD showed up, zooming through the air.  Lil' Petey, Zuzu, and Maddie hopped on 80-HD's back as he carried them through the air.

Stellaluna watched as the three were in the air, flying to the city. She heard the things Zuzu told her granddaughter and her great grandson, and knew they would need her help as well.

"It's been a while since I've adventured," Stellaluna said, running out of Petey's lab. She pulled out her box and pulled out a superhero costume from it.

"Knew Madison would do something superheroic," Stellaluna said she then placed the costume on. She wore a white suit with pink gloves, boots, and a belt. On the center of her center was the symbol of a pink cat. She wore a pink mask and a pink gliding feature was on her suit.

"Hissful Wonder is back and in!" She declared and began running. Using her gliding feature, she glided through the sky, on her way to the city.

"HEY!" Grampa had watched everyone leave. He remembered the things he heard Maddie and Lil' Petey say. "Unspeakable evil, eh? Unlimited supa powers?  No moral compass?"

Grampa had evil look before running out of the lab. Meanwhile, Petey was climbing down the ladder with Commander Cupcake to the secret exit.

"Well, here we are, Grampa," Commander Cupcake said once they were all the way down. My Cupcake Command Center."

"Let's check the Cupcake Computer." Cupcake sat in front of the computer. He made beeping sounds as he touched the  buttons drawn on the keyboard. "Hey, that's not a real keyboard," Petey pointed out, picking it up. "It's just a pizza box with stuff drawn on it."

"And you spelled 'computer' wrong," Petey said as he looked at the screen, which was actually just a piece of paper typed to the wall with the words "compyuduh" written on it.

"Look, we need to get out of here," Petey said, looking at Commander Cupcake.

"To the Cupcake Mobile!" Commander Cupcake declared. They both ran to the Cupcake Mobile, which  was a cardboard drawn in pink and had cups glued to the back in shape of engines. "Behold: the latest in Cupcake technology!"

"I just need to glue on the last paper plate, I mean tire." Commander Cupcake put glue on the paper plate he was holding, but he ended up getting glue in his hand.

"Look, we haven't got time for this," Petey said. "I've gotta go and save my son and best friend."

"But you haven't seen the Cupcake Cabana yet," Commander Cupcake said. "Or the Cupcake Croquet Court or the-"

"I just wanna see the Cupcake Exit!" Petey interrupted with annoyance.

"Well,  why didn't you say so?" Commander Cupcake asked. He slapped Petey's back. Petey looked, Commander Cupcake's hand sticking to his back with dripping glue.

"Hey." Commander Cupcake began trying to remove his hand from Petey's back, but to no prevail. "I think your back got stuck on my hand somehow."

"Oh, well, come on, Grampa." Commander Cupcake climbed into the Cupcake Mobile. He stood up, his feet on the ground sticking out of the Cupcake Mobile. "Atomic cupcake powers activate."

Commander Cupcake ran forward in the Cupcake Mobile, running through the exit, with Petey glued to his hand.
