Chapter 11: The Cat Kid and The Razor Claws Conundrum

Meanwhile, in the quiet of the night,  in the stillness of twilight, two silent sentinels sneak in the shadows. Swiftly unsuspecting, they shing their claws. Ready to slice, and in this perfect moment, when a swipe from their sharpened sabers promises sweet salvation, they stop.

Cat Kid and Razor unretracted their claws.  They couldn't do it. They couldn't harm the tadpoles.  It wasn't their fault. They were under the influence of the Supa Brain Dots. They were kids.

"Hey," one of the tadpoles said, noticing Cat Kid and Razor Claws. "I didn't see you two back there. You could've clobbered me."

"We know," Cat Kid and Razor Claws said.

"You guys could've sliced us all into sushi," the tadpole said.

"We know."

"You could have saved all of your friends," the tadpole continued.

"We know."

"But you didn't," the tadpole said before asking. "Why?"

Cat Kid and Razor Claws were silent. It made sense that the tadpole was a little confused. "We can't hurt you guys," Cat Kid told the tadpoles.

"You're just little kids," Maddie added. "And if I hurt you, then it hurt. Not only you, but me. And I can't do that."

Cat Kid and Razor Claws were silent for another second and looked at the tadpole. "What's your name?" Cat Kid asked.

"Molly," the tadpole answered.

"Oh, I'm Lil' Petey," Cat Kid introduced himself.

"I'm Maddie," Razor Claws introduced herself.

"Hey, guess what?" Cat Kid said. "We have a comic club."

"You do?" Molly asked.

"Yeah, you can join if you really want to," Molly said.

"But I never made a comic before," Molly said.

"It's okay,"  Razor Claws told her. "We can show you how. It's fun."

"You two will teach me?" Molly asked.

"Of course," Cat Kid said.

"That's what friends do," Razor Claws added. "They help each other."

As the three friends talked and laughed, something started to change in Molly. And soon, her supa anger began melting away. That was when the Fair Fairy showed up, grabbing Cat Kid and Razor Claws as she did.

"What's going on here?" She asked.

"Mommy, this is Lil' Petey and Maddie," Molly introduced Cat Kid and Razor Claws. "They're my friends."

"No, they're not!" Fair Fairy said. "They're your enemies!"

"But Mommy, I think-" Molly was about to say.

"You're not supposed to think!" Fair Fairy snapped. "You're supposed to obey!"

"But Mommy!" Molly said as Fair Fairy flew up to Barky McTreeFace, holding Cat Kid and Razor Claws' hands firmly.

"Here, take these cats," Fair Fairy said, dropping Cat Kid and Razor Claws into the hand Barky was holding Zuzu and Bark Knight in.

"Mommy, wait!" Molly said as the Fair Fairy flew over to the other tadpoles.

"Alright, children," Fair Fairy started. "It's time to destroy the Supa Buddies and their friends!"

Molly watched in dread as her siblings began zapping Cat Kid, Razor Claws, Bark Knight, and their friends.

"That's right, kiddies," Fair Fairy said proudly as the tadpoles zapped. "Zap them with your supa-angry powers!"

"Mommy, no!" Molly said in alarm.

"See?" Fair Fairy turned to Molly. "Nobody else has a problem with following orders! Now get down there with all of the others and do as you're told!"
