005: Test

Emma POV

"Hey Emma! Wake up!"

I turned onto my side, trying to block out the voice in my ears with a pillow. Why did someone have to wake me up from such a good dream?

In the outside world, Mama took us to a zoo, and I finally got to ride a giraffe! And Ray was scoffing in the background. Wait, what were the others doing? I forgot but I think Y/n somehow got into the monkey enclosure and was hanging upside-down with them.

Oh yeah! That's why we got kicked out of the zoo.

"Emma get your lazy butt out of the bed!"

"Y/n! Don't be so harsh to her!"

"I'm encouraging her, Zenitsu! You don't understand that this girl here needs to snap out of her dreams!"

"Guys I got ice water..."

That was all I could make out until I felt something cold and wet splash all over my head, soaking me from head to toe under the bedsheets. "H-hey! What was that for!" I screeched, sitting up immediately. I turned to face the three people in front of me.

"You were taking forever to wake up," the boy on the left was holding a huge bucket which I assumed he dumped on me. It had been three days since Y/n's friends had arrived here and I still haven't memorised all their names.

"Me? Wake up late? Never!" I stubbornly pushed down the sheets and rose to the empty room. Zenitsu, Y/n and... Tomioka? Giyuu? Oh yeah. Giyuu. They looked at me like I had emerged from a swamp after falling in, even though I acknowledged the presence of it.

They were right. Everyone was dressed and probably downstairs eating breakfast. That explained the neat room.

"Don't just stare at the room, Emma!" Y/n bonked me on the head, shaking her head. "Get dressed out of your wet pyjamas. We'll be waiting for you downstairs."

"Okay okay! I'll be down!"

As soon as they left the room, I brought out my neatly folded, long-sleeve white top and changed. Oh- I forgot to dry off.

Now my clothes are wet.

"MAMA!" I shouted, hearing the lady rush up the stairs.

"What's wrong Em- oh my gosh! What in the name of demons happened here?" Mama almost choked at the sight of my soaked bed and my drenched hair. "Come on. We'll get you dried then you can explain this to me."

I rushed down the hall with her to the washroom and she helped me dry my hair with a spare towel that hadn't been used. It was fast to dry since it was short and when it was dry, Mama turned around and passed me my new blouse. Now I was ready for the day! Yippee!

I loved how Mama always cared for us, handing us everything we needed and never leaving us on our own. Despite that, we were quite independent children as well. She helped us grow our minds and increase our physical activity by letting us play in the fields after breakfast and tests. Oh, I really want to be like her one day!

Take care of children and give them a happy home as well!

"Mind telling me what happened there?" Mama placed her hands on her hips, leaning forward intimidatingly before giving up the façade and placing her hand on my head, ruffling my orange hair.

I was about to say that Y/n dumped water on me but then I rethought and phrased it differently. "Giyuu accidentally tipped a cup of water on my bed!" I giggled. Obviously, Giyuu wouldn't have done that on accident. He was a very... quiet and stoic figure. Almost cold and uncaring, but he felt loving as well. Just like Ray!
