Chapter 11: An Inspection Date

"So you're telling me that you and His Majesty will have a date tomorrow?"

Halos mabagsak ni Achlise ang platong hawak sa sinabi ng kaibigan.

"No. Inspection ang purpose, okay?" aniya sabay lapag ng plato sa table.

Morgan hid her smile as she watch Achlise frown. Hawak niya si Ishan habang hinihintay si Achlise na matapos sa ginagawa.

"Yeah, sure," tanging sagot ni Morgan.

"That's why I'm sorry for asking you to hide here for the entire morning first tomorrow. Madadaanan namin ang street na ito bukas dahil sa inspection. I'm afraid he'll see Ishan."

Napabuntong hininga na lamang si Morgan.

"Okay. Don't worry. The shop is just adjacent to our house, isang katok lang mula sa mga staffs ay madali ko na lang mareresolba kung magkaroon ng problema sa boutique."

"Okay, thank you," Achlise smiled at her best friend.

Tinignan ni Morgan si Ishan sabay halik sa pisngi nito, "What do we do, Ishan? Your Mommy and Daddy will going on a date tomorrow!"

Umawang ang bibig ni Achlise at bagsak ang balikat na binalingan muli ng tingin si Morgan. Lalo na nang biglang tumawa si Ishan habang nakatingin sa kaniyang Aunt Morgan. He was even spouting words they both can't understand while chewing his pacifier.

"Aw, Ishan gave you a permission. Did you see that cute reaction on his face?" Morgan laughed.

"Stop spouting nonsense, Morgan," Achlise sighed in defeat.

Natawa na lamang si Morgan habang tinitignan ang kaibigan.

If they are just in a different situation, the three of them could've been a beautiful family.

Though I will always be on Achlise's side, I can't help but feel sorry for His Majesty who doesn't even have a single idea about his own child's existence.

Kinaumagahan, katulad ng napagkasunduan ay maagang naghanda si Achlise. She just wore a simple dress without a hoop. A white and off shoulder dress underneath a brown and underbust corset. She also wore a purple hooded cape, tied her hair into a low ponytail with braids from the top of her forehead until behind her right ear.

"Enjoy your date, love birds," Morgan teased while waving her friend goodbye at the front door.

"I swear, Morgan..."

Morgan laugh as she watch Achlise's back disappear after turning to the left of a boutique going to the direction of Central Square.

Nang makarating si Achlise sa Central Square ay naabutan niya ang maingay na pasyalan. The fountain is working. There are a few children selling flowers and newspapers, restaurants are already open, vendors calling for costumers and even knights that's patrolling the capital for this morning.

The temperature is chilly, the fog is even visible in the air. The moist of the morning dew on the leaves and flowers decorated outside the shops and boutiques are still there. It is another peaceful morning in Ivelhan.

"Did you wait long?"

Bahagyang napaiktad si Achlise nang marinig ang pamilyar na boses sa kaniyang likuran. She immediately faced Rhysand wearing a black hooded cape with his usual a little messy and down hair style. The back of his platinum hair is already brushing against his nape while his bangs are also touching his lashes.
