Chapter 27: Chamber of Rumors
Two weeks have passed. Sa loob ng dalawang linggo ay mahahalata ng lahat ang distansiyang mayroon sa Viscountess at Emperor. They are still talking but only if it's important or it's about Ishan.
Pinanood ni Achlise si Morgan na hawak-hawak si Ishan habang nilalaro ito sa indoor garden kung nasaan sila ngayon. She smiled when Ishan laughed along with his Aunt Morgan.
Today, Ishan turned 11 months. Ilang buwan na rin kami sa palasyo. When he turned 9 months and months after that, Ashid bought him a huge teddy bear with jeweled eyes. I heard he's out to, yet again, buy another present for his son. The present from the nobles and envoys from other nations are also coming nonstop to the Silver Palace.
Napatingin sa glass wall ng indoor garden si Achlise. May festival ding nagaganap ngayon sa capital para sa araw na ito.
Ngunit bukod sa selebrasyon ng edad ni Ishan ay mayroon pang dahilan kung bakit mayroong festival na nagaganap ngayon.
"Did the Emperor say something about his attendance to the Lunar Nights?" tanong ni Morgan.
Tumaas ang tingin ni Achlise kay Morgan. Napansin niyang may tinitignan ito sa labas kaya sinundan din ni Achlise ang kaniyang tinitignan. Agad na nagbago ang kaniyang reaksyon nang makita ang papunta't pabalik na mga servants sa Harem Palace. Ang iba sa kanila ay may dalang mga tela, bulaklak para sa decoration at lanterns.
Seeing as the preparation is ongoing, the Emperor must've accepted the petition of his people to grant his attendance to the Harem Palace during the Lunar Nights.
"Starting to regret your decision?" ngisi ni Morgan sabay upo sa katapat na upuan ni Achlise.
Achlise sighed, "Even if I accepted his proposal, kailangan niya pa ring magparticipate sa Lunar Nights."
Muling yumuko si Achlise sa kaniyang iniinom tea.
The Lunar Nights were made to give chance for the Concubines to be held by the Emperor for at least a whole week. Accepting his proposal won't make a difference. At least, he'll attend the Lunar Nights without something to hold him back.
"May oras ka pa. Umaga pa at tirik pa ang araw. You can still run to His Majesty and beg him stay with you," Morgan encouraged her.
Mapait na ngumiti si Achlise sa kaniyang kaibigan at umiling nang bahagya. Bumuntong hininga na lamang si Morgan sa inaakto ng kaibigan. Ngunit alam niyang wala na siyang magagawa pa roon. She made her decision and she promised to support her whatever it is as long as she'll be safe and sound.
Bago pa man ang lunch ay umuwi na si Morgan dahil may kailangan pa raw itong asikasuhin sa kaniyang boutique. Habang naglalakad ang tatlo papunta sa labas upang ihatid sa kaniyang carriage si Morgan ay nakasalubong pa nila si Rafian.
"Greetings, Your Highness, Viscountess Darcey, and Lady Morgana..." Rafian greeted.
"Greetings, Your Excellency," Morgan greeted Rafian.
Ngumiti naman sa kaniya nang bahagya si Rafian, "It is nice to see you around, Lady Morgana. I hope you're always well."
"Thank you for wishing me well, Your Excellency. Pero mukhang ikaw itong kailangan ng pahinga," Morgan responded.
Nanlalalim ang mga mata ni Rafian at halatang pagod sa kung anumang trabaho ang kaniyang inaasikaso. Kaya hindi rin halos makita ni Achlise ang anino niya sa Silver Palace. He is busy with something and Achlise sure knows that it is very important to Rafian.
