Chapter 35: Sweetest Atonement

"What the hell happened?" kunot-noong tanong ni Rafian kay Nesrin na kasasalubong niya lang sa hallway.

"Wala rin kaming ideya. But I got a report... Hindi lang temple sa capital ang nasusunog," Nesrin responded.

"What?" gulat na tanong ni Rafian at natigilan na sa paglalakad.

Natigil na rin sa paglalakad si Morgan na siyang hawak-hawak ni Rafian sa palapulsuhan upang ihatid sana ito sa labas at pasakayin ng carriage dahil sa kaguluhang nagaganap.

Tumigil si Nesrin at hinarap si Rafian, "Every temple in Ivelhan is under attack by the five units of Silver Wings that was dispatched on the boarders. Setting the temple to fire while engaging combat to the Templar Knights."

Kapwa nanlaki ang mga mata nina Rafian at Morgan sa narinig. Tila nabingi sa kanilang narinig.

"I heard, even the Shadow Knights were dispatched to catch the priests and deal with the back ups of the noble houses that are backing the Temple. The houses of the Court Judges and witnesses present on the trial of the Viscountess is being set on fire as well." dagdag pa ni Nesrin.

"What the heck is happening? How about His Majes-" natigilan si Rhysand nang maalala si Rhysand.

Nanatili ang tingin ni Nesrin sa kaibigan, tila nagtataka sa biglaan nitong pagtitigil. Ngunit hindi rin nagtagal nang mapagtanto niya ang ibig sabihin ng reaksyon ni Rafian.

"Don't tell me..." Nesrin mumbled.

"Damn it!" humarap si Rafian kay Morgan na mukhang naiintindihan na rin ang nangyayari, "Lady Morgan, can you please take His Highness Ishan to the Caliwell Estate for now? I'm afraid, it'll gonna be chaotic in the palace for the Prince to stay for a while. Commander Nesrin will dispatch the 2nd Unit to guard His Highness together with the Caliwells Knight Order."

"A-All right... Leave Ishan to us," tango ni Morgan saka tumungo sa chamber ni Ishan kasama ang dalawang knight na naka-station sa hallway at inutusan ni Nesrin na samahan siya.

Pinanood ni Rafian ang papalayong si Morgan bago muling harapin si Nesrin.

"I'll go to the temple, His Majesty might be there. Dispatch the remaining knights under your command to monitor the noble houses that are supporting the temple. Also, make sure that the citizens are safe. Huwag nang palabasin pa ng temple ang nagaganap na combat battle. Paniguradong aatake rin sila sa oras na malaman nilang inaatake ang mga temple para tumulong," Rafian ordered.

"Got it. You should equip yourself with a sword as well, just in case," Nesrin reminded.

"I will. Sumunod ka na lang sa temple," napatingin si Rhysand sa mga nakapatrol na knights sa labas at sinenyasan sila.

"All right."

Naghiwalay na ng landas ang dalawa matapos makalabas ng Silver Palace. Si Nesrin na patungo sa training grounds at si Rafian na patungo naman sa temple.

"Get my sword. I'll wait for it at the main gate. You, get me a horse," utos ni Rhysand sa dalawang knights na kasama.

"Yes, Your Excellency," the knights answered before running to different direction, to Rafian's office.

Rafian clicked his tongue with an annoyed look on his face as he loosens his necktie while walking in a fast pace.

Damn it! Masyado akong nakampante sa pananahimik ng Emperor. Though I noticed that he's acting weird, I just thought he's coping up with Achlise's death. Turns out, he's already cooking something on our backs.
