Strength

3rd person POV:

"MOTHER!" The children of Otohime ran to her aid. The people around were horrified and in shock. Someone shot their queen in cold blood.

"Mother! Who shot you! I promise I'll find them and make them pay!" Fukaboshi was enraged. He held nothing but blind anger inside him for the person responsible for harming his family and wanted them to suffer.

Before he could lose his sense of morality completely though, he felt Otohime's hand touch his cheek. "Please. Do not hold anger for my death. That is not what I want. If we accept and give into this hatred, it will never leave our people and corrupt those with no reason to hate humans. I know it's hard my son, but you must be strong right now."

As they spoke, a Fishman with four legs came over to Shirahoshi and touched her arm. As he did, Shyarly noticed this and shouted. "Hey! Who are you!?"

"Ah! I'm getting outta here!" He ran away with Shirahoshi focusing more on what was happening in front of her. She was on the verge of a mental breakdown seeing her mother the way she was.

Remembering their mother's talk about Shirahoshi and how dangerous her power is, Mamboshi and Ryuboshi knew that they had to keep her calm at a time like this.

"Shirahoshi." Mamboshi started to dance around with trying to smile. "Hey look at me, mambo mambo. Don't be sad, jambo jambo."

Joining in, Ryuboshi began singing as well as a way to help. "Doe! Don't be sad, Shirahoshi!" The two kept singing and dancing while keeping a smile on them. But their tears proved a different look. They knew their mother was going to die, but needed to be there for their little sister instead of giving into their sadness. They wept while forcing a smile on their faces knowing this was the best they could do at this moment.

"My sons. Shirahoshi. Please come close for a moment." Otohime asked for everyone to come close enough for the mother not to speak to loudly. "Fukaboshi. Ryuboshi. Mamboshi. One day, I know in my heart you will become noble warriors that will protect this island and it's people. I'm sorry I won't be around to see you do this physically, but know I will always watch over you. Shirahoshi. I'm sorry I must leave you so young. But know that if you ever need someone to rely on, your family is always those you can trust. Izuku. I know you've had a hard run up till now in life. But you came to this island for a reason. Whether that reason defines the people on this island or not is unknown, but know I had always cared for you like any mother should for her children and always will." Otohime held out her pinky while smiling at her children. They all did the same as their way of promising they'll always be together even when they're not. Once they all did this, Otohime began to lose the last of her strength with her hand falling to the ground. The people of the Ryugu kingdom couldn't fathom this. The queen who always was so kind to them. Dead on the ground in front of them.

"Your majesty." Jinbei watched in grief as a paper came flying by him on fire. He immediately put it out with his bare hands before looking at the guards. "Surround the area! The killer is still at large-*BANG*!" The sound of a second gunshot was heard for the whale shark fishman to run as fast as he could towards the source. Once there, he saw some of the royal guards standing in front of a body. "Did you find the shooter."

The guard looked up and spoke. "He had a gun and was fleeing. Safe to assume he's the culprit."

"Anyone we know?" Jinbei asked for none of the guards to be proud answering.

"Not even close." The guards pulled away to show a human shot dead on the ground to shock the Warlord.

"It's a human!?"

"What should we do now?"

Jinbei held several emotions in him at this point. Most close to pure rage this was done by someone of the same species Otohime risked her life to reconcile with. But after everything that's happened, there was only one thing that would be best for Otohime's memory. "Hide the body. If word gets out that a human killed queen Otohime, everything she's worked for will be for nothing." This without a doubt didn't sit right with the soldier as he grabbed the human's neck and began walking towards the ledge overlooking the people. "HODY! STOP!"
