"You know, every fucking time I'm trying to enjoy time with my lovely wife, you're face keeps making an appearance." Logan says like the smart-ass he is, his voice loud over the music.
Hunter takes a step closer, "I'd watch your tone."
"I'd watch yourself, asshole."
"Logan, let's just go." I mumble into his ear, eager to be away from the stress that seems to become palpable the second that Hunter enters the room.
"Logan, he's free to go. But you and I need to have a word, princess." Hunter says, looking directly at Logan as if I'm not even the subject of the conversation.
"Like hell." Logan grumbles, grabbing my hand and catching Masons eye over the crowd of people. He catches on quickly and Logan mouths something to him before pushing me in that direction.
Mason grabs my hand as soon as I'm close enough, pulling me close so he can hear me over the music, "What's going on Katherine?"
I start to shake, naturally scared, "I-I don't know. He came out of nowhere. He said he w-wanted to talk to me about something but Logan wouldn't l-let him. I don't know, I-I"
Mason pulls me into a hug, although his eyes clearly never leave the situation at hand. "Shh, doll. It's alright. You've been stuck in more unfortunate situations then what's fair." He sends me a quick smile before grabbing my hand again, tough and hard.
Thankful to my heels, I can see the tops of their heads, and part of their faces. I see Logan start to walk towards us, and as soon as he does he speaks, "You're leaving."
"Alright." I whisper, clearly unopposed to the idea.
Logan throws my jacket on me and speaks quietly to Mason, who just nods.
Logan looks at me, grabbing my face in his hands. He sends Mason a look before crashing his lips down onto mine. "I love you, stay safe baby. I need to finish some business I thought was already done. Don't wait up at home okay? Mason will stay over with you." He kisses me again, possessivly before quickly grabbing Ant and walking towards the table.
"Mason, what about Alice? Should she, what if Hunter-"
He looks at me, "Rib is taking her back to his place. They uh, left before this whole thing started." He rubs the back of his head with the hand that's not holding mine, clearly disgusted as well.
We make it out of the crowd of grinding bodies and into the alley, and Mason is quick in his step. "Come on, doll." He mumbles, pulling me into his car and shutting the door for me.
He steps in, backing out the second his key is in the ignition. He drives in silence, casually trying to sneak peaks in the rear view as not to scare me, but I understand the need to check.
Hunter was unpredictable as all hell, and taking precautions was a good idea in my book. Having a surprise visitor on our tail all of a sudden isn't necessarily my idea of fun.
Once we are out of the downtown area, Mason seems to relax, although not completely. Seeing him relax in turn makes me feel more comfortable.
"Thank you for taking me home. I know it's been really crazy, I'm sorry." I apologize, my words sincere. Since I've come into Logans life these boys have had to put up with me, and the Hunter situation that is associated with me.
He shakes his head, smiling, "It's not a problem at all. And, it's really not your fault."
I sigh, "Hunter is. Somehow I got them involved and now it's a big, crazy, mess and-"
"We are a gang, Katherine. Big, crazy, messes are part of what we signed up for. You haven't done anything wrong." He says, uplifting my spirits. My heart is still racing from the club.
