Castiel stood awkwardly by the Impala as Dean began to unload his duffle bag. They had just finished hunting a Crocotta, a creature who lures you to them with the voice of your loved ones.
"Hey man," Dean said, zipping up his bag as he unloaded the last weapon into the trunk, closing the secret area. "we need to talk."
"Of course Dean, what is it?" Cas replies absentmindedly as he begins listening in to angel radio.
"Cas.. This Crocotta.. It made me think it wa-" Dean began, only to be cut off by Cas.
"Hold that thought Dean" he says quickly, then disappears.
"-s you.." Dean finished off quietly, looking down at his hands. "Because I'm a huge idiot. Because I love you..."
Dean growled with frustration and threw the duffle bag into the trunk, then slammed it closed.
"God dammit.." He mutters, running his hands through his hair. He never had trouble getting a date or hitting on someone, but it was always with chicks.
Dean sighed with defeat, he had tried multiple times to confess his love to Cas but something had always interrupted or stopped him, "maybe it just wasn't meant to be." Dean thought as he went back into his motel room where Sam was on his laptop.
"Got anything for us Sammy?" Dean said, sitting in a chair.
"I'm yeah I think so." Sam replied as he passed Dean a beer, "looks like there's something in Pittsfield, Illinois."
"Where the hell is that?" Dean scoffed.
"A few hours from Pontiac. Real hick place it looks like, Illinois top hunting county." Sam reads off with a slight snort. "Anyway, looks like possible vengeful spirit."
"Ok Sammy, details. Let's not play twenty questions." Dean grumbles jokingly.
"Multiple students at the local high school have been dying, all of them in the same way."
"Ok, but whose the spirit."
"I think this girl." Sam turns the laptop towards Dean, the screen open to a news article with the picture of a young girl. "She killed herself. Her suicide note didn't name any names, but it did describe the things they did to her.."
Dean shook his head, looking sick as he read. "Ok. Let's go to Pittsfield, Illinois."
