Jessica's POV
I was talking to Mrs. Yoon when Andy called me. I couldn't stop my lips from curving up to my ears when I saw his name on the caller ID. I excused myself and went out of the room to pick up the call.
I talked to Andy for almost an hour and throughout the time, he was whining about how I prioritized Jae over him and how much he missed me. Little did he know, that no one could ever take his place in my heart.
I informed him that I would soon leave for home and his happiness knew no bounds after that. I texted Bell also.
I did not immediately go back in to the room, rather I peered in through the glass. I saw Mrs. Yoon sleeping peacefully while Jae was caressing her head gently with a pleasent expression on his face. The sight was so pleasurable to watch. I found myself lucky to capture it with my eyes.
I paused and rewinded the clock. The way things had turned out in the last month and a half had caused me to think a lot. Just two months ago, I had been a regular, lazy girl who only knew two things: work and Korean dramas.
I not only realised but also confessed my love for Andy in the last month, pushing our relationship to the next level. We were hoping to tie the knot as soon as possible.
The dream that still keeps all the fangirls around the world alive turned into reality for me. I got a chance to not only meet but also be friends with the world's most handsome man. I could slowly feel the friend inside me taking control over the fangirl, which was a wonderful feeling.
And then, I was standing there in Korea, my dream place, to help my friend. I felt so content seeing that pleasant smile on his face. All the emotions and tears that gave me the courage to take this big step felt meaningful. I wished our friendship lasts as long as my breaths do. Jae is a very humble and friendly person, I never plan on loosing him.
He had become an interestingly important part of my life in such a short time. I just wanted to save his smiling image in my heart before leaving for Phillipines.
I softly pressed the door knob to open it and looked at Jae. He immediately craned his neck and looked up to me.
"I think I should leave now, Jae." My words reached his ears making his expressions change all of a sudden.
I could sense that he was unhappy. I too felt a little sad but at the end of day, I had to go back home.
"Ohh okay. Finally, it's time." He said.
"Yeah, finally. Time to say Goodbye."
"Only until next time." He replied almost instantly. I could only blink and nod as a reaction.
"Did Smith book your tickets?" He asked.
"Yup, he did. It's an international flight so I must leave early." I informed.
"Yeah, right. I will drop you at the airport. Let me just talk to the doctor once." He grabbed his overcoat from the sofa and then walked to me.
"No need, Jae. Smith will drop me. You stay here with Mrs. Yoon." I responded.
"Mom is much better now. I will accompany you." He spoke blankly.
"Jae, it's okay. I will manage." I said.
He didn't say anything and just stared at me with a harsh expression on his face. I couldn't figure out what it was for, but it made me give up.
I too grabbed my things from the sofa and followed him as he moved out of the room but not before saying my 'goodbye' to Mrs. Yoon.
