YOON JAE HO'S POV
After almost 20 hours, my mother finally regained consciousness. The doctors said that her recovery rate was increasing and we would soon be able to take her home.
Despite the fact that she didn't say much, hearing her voice after such a long time felt wonderful. She spoke to me after opening her eyes. After that, I couldn't stop grinning. I felt as if I had been brought back to life.
Currently the nurse had given her another medicine and she was sleeping because of that. Me and Jessi were sitting on the sofa...talking about anything to everything.
I had known that she had lost her parents but I didn't know the details. When I got to know them, I realised that Jessi was such a wonderful and strong girl. She fought with her life at such a young age and came out to be so strong. My respect for her grew ten times more.
Jessi was unquestionably my good luck charm. I only left my mother with her for half an hour, and she soon regained consciousness. Jessi's magic was undeniably at work. For me, she was an angel in disguise.
Everything nice had happened to me since the day she entered my life. In just one month, I signed two new series. On Instagram, I had become the most followed Korean actor. And now, my mother...her presence accomplished what no amount of medicine or doctors could. My mom was cured by her.
I had been smiling and talking more since the day I met her. I was always cheerful since she's made a positive difference in my life. She was completely ignorant to what she had done to me.
"What are you thinking about?" Jessi snapped her fingers in front of me to bring me out of my thoughts.
"Nothing. Just." I replied casually.
"Ohh okay."
She then proceeded to blabber on once again. I had no idea what she was talking about because I was so preoccupied with admiring her appearance. I couldn't take my gaze away from her eyes, nose, cheeks, jawline, and especially her lips. She was stunning, and her calming smile and fascinating voice had me completely smitten.
I kept noticing two loose strands of her hair sliding down over her face, obstructing my view. I reached out carefully and slipped that strand behind her ear.
Her pulse quickened and her cheeks reddened as I touched her. Her lips zipped up and her eyes went large. She had a cute expression on her face as she stared at me.
Smith thought it was time to barge in and annoy us. I sighed and turned my attention to him.
"Sir, sorry to disturb you but I think you should go home now." Smith said as he entered the room.
"Home? Have you lost your mind? You want me to go home when Mom is sick. I have no intention of leaving." I quickly replied.
"Mrs. Yoon is much better now. I just had a talk with the doctor. We shall soon take her home. Till then, I will take care of her and in the meanwhile you can go home to freshen up and change." He spoke calmly.
"But Smith, how can I leave her alone--"
"She won't be alone. I will take care of her. Don't worry Jae. Just go home. You too need rest." Jessi cut me in between.
"Please sir. You really need rest." Smith joined Jessi.
"Look Jae, you have got dark circles under your eyes. You really need some rest." Jessi said.
I looked at my mom and then at Jessi who was looking at me with puppy eyes.
I finally gave in.
