The next morning, my alarm went off pretty early. It wasn't much sleep I got over night, but I wanted to be prepared for my first date.
I never had a date before. Yes, that was true. I never had a boyfriend as well. All my life I just had eyes for my instruments and music in general. Another part of the reason was also my shyness. I was never a coom kid at school, none of the boys was interested in me because they never recognized me at all.I took a shower. I didn't put much make up on. As Joonas advised me I decided to wear warm clothes and a cosy winter jacket.
Again my phone rang as yesterday.
'Hei, I forgot where to rang again. May you let me in?', a happy Joonas said. I laughed and pressed the opener
A minute later he stood infront of me with a bouquet of flowers. It was a colorful mixture of different ones and it fitted me perfectly.
'Thank you, Joonas. They are beautiful!', I thanked him and hugged him with a big smile on my face. I had a closer look on him for a moment. He looked different than I've seen him before. He wore jeans, boots, a black jacket. He had no make up on and his hair wasn't as fluff, as it was for stage. I liked his private look.'Come on in. Do you want a coffee or are we in a hurry?'
'No, we aren't, but I'm fine, thanks.', he answered and followed me inside and looked around my appartment for the next days. I placed the flowers into a vase and came back to him.
'Ok, I'm ready then. Where do we go now?', I asked nosy.
'You will see, dear.', he laughed and so we were on our way to his car.We drove for a while until we were out of Oulu in the nature.
'I come here every now and then, when I'm at my parents. It's where no one knows me, where it's quiet and peaceful.', he explained when we took our first steps through the snow.
'You didn't seem to be this type of person to me. You're always so energetic.', I said and looking at him from the corner of my eye.
'There are many things you don't know about me so far. I have to get all this energy from somewhere.', he winked at me and we both had to laugh. He was so different from what my first impression was. It was easy being around him, he was really attentive. 'How is your dad?'
'He send me a voice message today. He never does, but now as he can only use one hand, he uses it, it's funny. He's doing well. He started using less pain killers, but it will take a while.', I said and Joonas nodded. 'He's a great guy. You're lucky to have a dad like Vilho.'To hear him say this made me happy. 'Yes, he's an awsome father. He teached me a lot and I'm clearly daddy's little girl.', I told Joonas. 'My mum instead is like a lioness, too protective. We have a hard time at the moment.' Joonas looked thoughtful.
'It's normal, I think. More or less all parents are like that. They all want the best for us, but sometimes it doesn't match what they and we think is the best. In the end we have to decide which direction we take in our life, even it was a wrong turn, we have to do our own mistakes.'I never thought he would be that philosophic. 'You're true, Joonas. I hope she will realize it as well and let me go my own way. I'm more than happy with the way I decided to go.'
He stopped and smirked. 'Not only you.' He pulled me into a hug.
My head rested against his shoulder and I could smell his cologne.
Yes, this really seemed to be the right way, the right moment. In the moment I eased, I felt Joonas grabbing me tight and lifting me up in the air. 'Joonas! No!!', I screamed and laughed.
