21. Eat you alive

Suvis POV:

As I opened my eyes I felt awful.  Half the night I have been awake and thought about my whole situation.
I got up and took a long hot shower to relax my muscles and comfort myself. I didn't want to have breakfast, I wasn't up for meeting my parents at all.

So I went back to my room and sat at the laptop and decided to apply for university. I had a chat with Aleksi here and there over the topic. He himself decided to study in the netherlands, because it was one of the leading countries in electronic music, many djs are coming from there.

I wanted to stay in Finland for my studies and I thought the best would be to go to Helsinki.
I decided to try my luck at the University of Arts and wrote an application for Music Technology. As an alternative I decided to go for Sound Design.

I got a video call in the evening. As I answered it, I saw a cute sleepyhead on the other side. Joonas had really messy hair, no make up, he looked a bit tired, but with a huge smile.
'Hei babe!', he greeted me with a raspy voice.  I giggled. 'Hei, did you just got up?', I asked him. His face said all. 'Yeah, you got me here.', he laughed. 'How are you? How was the talk with your parents?', he got serious again.

I coughed and bit my lip. 'Could have been better, could have been worse, I think.', I began. 'That means?', Joonas looked worried. 'First of all, my mom said she wanted to support me more in the future and accept my decisions more. BUT, she thinks I am going to study in Vaasa, which I clearly don't want to do. Then after that, I told them about us. My dad, as you can guess, was really happy for us.' I had a big smile on my face again. 'Yet...my mom again was...mhhh...a bit over protective' I tried my best to tell it as considerated as possible.

'Well, I could imagine your mom doesn't appreciate a musician as her daughters boyfriend very much.', you could hear him being a bit disappointed, he had wished for something better. 'I'm sorry...', I mumbled. 'I wished it would have been different. But you won't believe what happened as well.' Joonas was curious. 'I stood up to them. First time in my life I was arguing and I told them I will live my own life, if they like it or not.'
I tried my best to look proud and confident, yet I failed as I saw in Joonas face. He tried hard not to laugh at me, but he couldn't.

'I'm proud of you, rakas! I knew my girl is tough. I would love to support you more, can I help you?', Joonas replied. I thought for a while. I haven't decided yet if I should leave earlier. 'I said to my parents, that I decide today if I leave earlier. I'm not sure if it's a good idea, Joonas. As much as I want to be by your side, I feel bad for them, soon is christmas and all. Honestly I don't want to fight, but I can't help myself in this situation.' I looked worried. I didn't want to disappoint any site. I felt like being caught between two stools.

'Don't be so hard to your parents and most of all to yourself. Your dad is awsome and your mom, I'm sure, just wants the best for you. Give them time and don't ran away from your problems. As much as I want you here with me, stay for the 2 days at yours and use the time with your parents.' I nodded, he was right. It was all being said with a heated mind.

'Sorry, I have to end the call. Joel just came in.', Joonas said and now Joel appeared next to him wearing a hoodie and he was also with messed up hair. 'Hei Suvi!', he waved at me.
'Hei Joel! Yeah, have a nice day, you two! Can we talk tomorrow?', I asked my boyfriend. 'Sure. I can call you in the evening. Bye, rakas!', he did an air-kiss to me. 'Bye!', I did the same and Joel looked like he would throw up any moment by our actions.

Joonas was right, my parents were happy about me staying for the next days. We avoided to talk about my work for BC and only little we talked about Joonas. My mom now asked a bit more about him and his family and so on. I think my dad had a talk with her yesterday after I had left.
She still wasn't very excited about my boyfriend, but she tried her best.

The days went by and finally it was the 15th. I woke up really early, I couldn't find much sleep, I could only think about Joonas and me staying at his. It frightened me a bit, but I was really curious about his flat.

I carried my bags downstairs after I made myself ready. I had asked my mother to drive me to the airport. I was lucky and she agreed. It would be the first time since our little fight that we would be together without my dad.

I hugged my dad goodbye before I got in the car with my mom.
'So, does your...how was his name?...take you from the air port?', my mother tried to talk to me.
'His name is Joonas...Joonas, mom! And yes, he does. Maybe Joel, his neighbour and bandmate, too.', I got angry again.
I began staring out of the car window than talking more to my mother.

She parked the car and we both got out of the car. I got my bags out of the trunk and hugged my mom. 'Thanks and goodbye!  See you in a few days.', I said quickly and left before she could say anymore anoying stuff.

After a few minutes I arrived at the gate. It was easy to fly between the finnish cities.
I quickly texted Joonas before I got into the plane, that I was on my way.
He was online, so he answered right after.

Safe flight! I can't wait to finally have you back! <3

He was way too cute!
I took my seat inside the tiny plane and soon after the safety advises we took off.

Round about an hour later we landed in Helsinki. I got my bags and walked to the arrival area. My heart pounded so bad. Finally I would see Joonas again.
First I didn't find him. He stood a few meters away together with Joel. Bith wearing heavy winter jackets hoods pulled over their heads to cover the hair.

As I saw them I waved. I was so happy  to see them.
Joonas pulled me into a tight hug. 'Welcome, rakas', he whispered. 'In the car you'll get plenty of kisses, ok?'
I nodded and tightened my grip around him a bit more. 'I am so happy to be here.', I whispered.
When I losened my grip I turned around. I hugged Joel as well and both men took my bags and together went to the car.

'Are Tommi and Olli already here?', I asked them. 'No, Tommi insisted in driving as always. So they will probably arrive later and stay at Aleksi's place.', Joel explained.
Joel sat on the driver seat. Joonas opened the back door for me and I took a seat. A few seconds later he sat in the back as well and in the same second pulled me into an intense kiss.
'Oh guys, please...I know you missed each other, but stop eating each other alive in front of me.', Joel whined.

What do you think? Why doesn't Suvi's mom approve this relationship?
What could be the real reason?

And finally Suvi came to Helsinki and will live with Joonas in his flat for the next days. Will this go well?
