TW: Sculpting knives, crying and abandonment issues

Wow... Not a lot of TWs! This chapter is actually fluffy!

Patton yawned, but didn't allow his focus to waver as his hand hovered over the cactus, a sculpting knife in the other.

Of course, Patton would never intentionally hurt a plant! Especially not a cute little cactus! No, he'd made sure to remove the plant's spirit. He even put it in a little jar, with leaf detailing on the glass! Logan had made it for his birthday and seeing the jar still made Patton smile.

"Make sure you cut with the groove. Otherwise the plant matter could splinter. Bear in mind the texture is more similar to wood right now." Patton beamed, nodding and sticking his tongue out in concentration.

"I will. Thanks, Lo." Logan shrugged, leaning back up and crossing his arms behind his back.

"Your work is extremely impressive, Patton. I don't understand how this idea came to you, however." Logan gazed at the 'sculpture' with some sort of fascinated wonder, bringing another wave of pride over Patton. He loved when Logan was in his art class, they got to hang out and Logan always had such good tips!

"Well... I've been wanting a pet for a few years now. And animals are just so cute! You know how I love to sculpt cute things!" Logan nodded, urging Patton on. "So, I was thinking that maybe if I could make a sculpture out of a plant... It's cheap, I could easily change the proportions or grow something I accidentally chopped off... You know, being a fairy and all. I promised little Marty here,"

Patton gestured to the glowing green wisp in the jar, briefly spraying the jar with water before returning the lid. Even if the plant didn't have a body, they still needed to sustain themselves!

"-that I would make them into a succulent cactus instead of a really spiky cactus. Look, I even have a sketch I showed them."

"Well, it is good that you have documented your thought process. You will have to do a lot of in depth annotation to explain this."

"I know, Logie. Gosh, I can remember when you were still learning art with me! Now you're learning to teach it."

"That is what is known as progression, Patton." Logan said in a dry tone, though the daisy-clad boy couldn't help but giggle.

"So what've you been up to Lo? I haven't seen you since Friday." Patton sighed as he accidentally cut an "arm" off, holding it back and using his magic to reattach it.

"If you're asking about what I did over the weekend, I cannot say I did much of interest. I was reading for the most part, as well as maintaining my health as per usual. As for yesterday, I spent most of my time in English classrooms and sorting out the fight between your boyfriend and Roman."

Patton sighed, pausing for a second. "Cats and dogs, those two."

"Patton, they are both vampires. They are neither cats nor dogs." Patton chuckled and rolled his eyes, getting up and taking a photo of his now completed sculpture. He grinned, just admiring his work and bouncing on his heels.

"It looks so cool, doesn't it Lo?" Patton cooed, holding the jar close to his chest carefully and starting to pack up. "I'm so happy with it! Now that I have a clear image of what I want to grow..."

"Why not just reintroduce the soul?" Logan asked what all the readers were probably wondering.

"You'll see. I need two souls to bring them to life, plus the plant is in pain!" Logan hummed thoughtfully. It wasn't often he got to learn new things anymore, but he always loved when he could.
