My Day Part 2

It was probably a good two hours before I heard movement in the house. Looking up from my spot I was getting really bored, really trust me I was. Ensign was still fast asleep on the bed and he looked peaceful, no sign of discomfort or pain. Thinking it was ok I stood up very slowly and starting gathering the supplies. I made sure to grab his dirty clothes as well and made my way out the door. Closing it gently behind me I was greeted to Mary packing Tommy up.

"Stephanie, what are you doing here?"

"Shhhh." Looking back through the door i watched as he mumbled something beforexsettling back down. "I was nursing Ensigns back from his punishment." I said once the door was closed.

"That's very kind of you. I'm glad your making more 'friends' maybe you'll have something better soon." She gave me a kind smile going to pick up Thomas before sighing and looking stressed.

"You ok Mary? You look tired."

"Yes I was supposed to help the ladies with some things in town, but I cant go with Thomas and I dont know what to do with him."

Thinking about it I knew I could help as I have no problem with kids, I just dont want my own.

"I could watch him for you Mary."

Turning around she gave me a shocked look before shaking her head.

"Oh no. I couldn't ask that of you since your already busy."

Placing the stuff down I went and grabbed her hands.

"Mary it's ok. It's the least I can do for assisting me when I was in need of help. I just need to clean up and then I'm free to watch him. Mr Baker is just taking a nap to let his wounds breathe."

Giving me a big smile she pulled me into a hug.

"Thank you. I appreciate it very much. Also I didnt know you knew about those skills."

Nodding my head I gave her a big smile in return.

"Yes, it's something I picked up on my own. If you wish I can do some laundry while I'm at it since I'm will be doing these cloths and Mr Bakers clothes. I dont think Thomas will be much trouble and if you dont mind I can take him for a walk around town to meet up later?"

"That's sounds lovely and yes we can meet in town in a few hours. I should be going then." Turning to her son she gave him a quick kiss and a hug. "Now Thomas you be a gentleman for for Miss Stephanie, ok. Momma will see you in the evening."

He just giggled giving Mary a kiss back on the cheek. Watching as she gathered her sowing kit she waved to me.

"Thank you again Stephanie, I will meet you later."

I watched as she walked out the door closing it. Turning to Thomas I saw he was just watching me, I gave him a smile to which he giggled at. Picking him up I brought him with me, balancing perfectly both him and the basket, taking them outside with me. Placing the basket down i went back in with I'm grabbing the bucket and taking if out as well. Placing it and him down gently, I turned picking up the bucket and dumped it out a couple feet away. Coming back Thomas slowly walked behind me to the water pump where I placed the bucket down to fill it.

"Ahh."

Looking up I saw he wanted to be held, so picking him up he reached for the pump.

"Ah, you want to be a strong man and do it yourself huh?"

Giggling I held him up so he could pull the pump, but I still did all the work since he is only barely two. We giggled as we slowly puf water into the bucket stopping every now and then to splash each other. Once filled I put him down, picking the bucket up, and walked to the clothing line to place it down.
