The next two weeks went by slowly, and annoying. I skipped my birthday and did not inform anyone so I could enjoy it with myself and my memories of my family. I spend almost every day at the Strong Tavern helping Anna with drinks and food. I would sometimes spend my time visiting Mary and Thomas helping with laundry and just talking. Abraham would be in and around the area always watching me like a hawk. I almost told him to fuck off when one day in particular I was out with Baker for a stroll and he kept following in the treelines and ending up in the same location. I dont know if Baker saw it, but if he did he did not make comment or ignored him. I on the other hand was completely fed up with this man. Even men from this time are still little shits when it comes to women. It was the day before Mr. Woodhull and I would depart for New York again. Let me tell you I was not looking foward to interacting with Major André, but I also know I cant be petty in this time. I need to act like a women, essentially 'grow a pair', and apologize to the man. I also know that I will still be petty enough that if he doesn't say sorry first I will not speak a word to him and nothing will change that.

I was on my way to the pier where Ensign and I have been meeting to go for a stroll around town. It's different from what I'm used to, but it's a nice change of pace. I had on a red dress that flowed lovely around and down my body. I greeted most of the towns people and the redcoats as I passed them, wishing them a good morning. Coming up to the pier I saw Ensign on the docks helping some sailors unload their boat. Keeping pace I went to approach him, but was stopped by a hand on my shoulder.

"Miss MacDonald, Do you have a moment?"

Fully turning to face the voice I was greeted with Major Hewlitt.

"To what do I enjoy the pleasure of your company Major?" I turned to look at Ensign then back at the Major.

"Well, I know you are meant to head out for York City tomorrow morning. I was wondering if you would be willing to speak to Major Andrea about sending us more troops?"

I was confused by this, as why didnt he just send a letter.

"I am sorry to bother you with this, it's just I sent a letter a month back and still haven't gotten a response. With my last regiment taken down in an ambush, well......I need more men in order to protect the town."

'Aahhhhh. So Andrea is essentially ignoring him. Great.'

"I hate to say Major the only reason I am going is because the last he and I spoke.....well let's just say unkind things where said on both sides."

"Ahhhh, I see. Well then I do hope you can talk this rift out."

Giving him a kind smile I shook my head.

"Only if he is willing to apologize first as he was the first to wound."

Giving a slight chuckle he offered his arm to me making me even more confused.

"Let us take a walk if I may?"

"Oh, uh, well I was meeting Ensign here." Taking a look over the man in question was standing firm with a grim look on his face.

"I actually switched Ensign and another soldier earlier, so sadly he can not leave his post."

Nodding my head I placed my hand on his arm hesitantly. Grabbing my hand he gently pulled me along away from the pier allowing me to look at Ensign once more before we passed some buildings. We walked for a moment around the building and slowly made our way in the direction of the judges home.

"I apologize for pulling you away, but I needed to speak with you about something else."

"Whatever could be so important that you had to change Ensigns post and pull me aside? We have no disturbed or bothered anyone with our time together."
